This is my first draft. Standard Yahoo crap.

QB-M.Hasselbeck
RB-C.Portis
RB-D.McAllister
RB-R.Johnson
RB-C.Benson
WR-A.Johnson
WR-J.Porter
WR-A.Lelie
WR-P.Burress
WR-Re.Williams
WR-B.Edwards
TE-J.Witten
TE-D.Jolley
K-J.Hall
DEF-NYJ

Should I try to get a good #1 WR for one of my RB's?

[/ QUOTE ]

This is super-solid. AJ could himself be a very good #1 WR. If you wanted to package a back and a WR/back for a stud, you could certainly do that.

And as much as I hate to say it, you prob don't want to start the Jets D in KC in week 1.

Oh, you don't need all those defenses and TE's and chit.

Why do you think Deuce is going to have such a good year? I'm curious. I really dislike the Saints this year.

[/ QUOTE ]

He's going into his 4th full season as the starting back there. In the previous 3 years, he's averaged 1350 yards and 10 TD's rushing. In addition he's proven to be a big part of the passing game, averaging 50 catches for 400 yards in this period.

I've never been a Saints fan -- frankly I think they're a team full of turds. That said, Deuce has proven himself to be very effective, and this season the Saints appear to be dedicating themselves to the run more than ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

You forgot the part about how they've upgraded their O line.

One thing I noticed the last two years when I had McAlister is that the Saints have a tendency to dump the run quickly when they get behind.

With their defense really looking like it is going to be crap, plus Aaron Brooks and the unknown reason why Jim Hasslett still has a job all means HORRIBLE year for the Saints. I think they might only win 5 or 6 games. And will trail early in a lot of those games.

This throws up a red flag for me on a normally very solid RB.

Despite things, McAllister has been a top performer for the last 3 years. They weren't setting the world on fire during this time.

To me, the reason Aaron Brooks has a job is about as murky as Haslett's.

You aren't allowed to post in this thread anymore. Jones, Portis, Jordan, Duckett, Benson, BELOW AVERAGE AT RB? ARE YOU INSANE?

[/ QUOTE ]

If he can start 5, he's above average.

If he can start three, he's a touch above average.

If he can start 2, he's below average.

I assumed 2. If I'm wrong, I apologize. If he can start all 5, I'll move him up to a B-/B.

Josh

Ok here we go. Yahoo default scoring. 10 teams. Pick #9.

Jamal Lewis RB
Marvin Harrison WR
Brett Favre QB
LaMont Jordan RB
Roy Williams WR
Chris Brown RB
Plaxico Burress WR
DeShaun Foster RB
Carnell Williams RB
Jake Delhomme QB
Heath Miller TE
Chicago DEF
Keary Colbert WR
Reggie Williams WR
Onlino Mare K

I did no prep work for this draft and I think it shows. I was pretty pleased with some of my later round picks but all in all thought I did pretty poorly. Thoughts?
