do you really need me to PM you ? ;P
BTW as far as "cheating" or the angle creating a second base is an option if you want to attack and get a nickle out of it etc. You can only attack the same base once a a day [2 resets] and if they suspect you of cheating (through the powers of IP tracing) then they will ban your accounts and your IP. With that you can always do it from a diffrent IP machine [IE create one at work and play it there and one at home etc etc] however its way to much work for 10 cents when you cn find a deserted base fo rthe same. Since the "gimmick" base won't ever have much in it. Though its an option to create one and have the "alliance" it self bang it for the cash inside? |

I've got a growing list of coordinates for other bases as well.
Has anyone thought about putting a map together? I started a pretty basic one in excel and it's been pretty handy so far. Any base I pass by gets noted. The owner's name, I color code it depending on the fortification level, and there's another color if I got caught spying. If everyone in the alliance contributed to something like this we could map out huge portions of the world which would be great for searching out people you want to hit up. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure it would be worth the effort. From what I have read the grid is 500x500 so that is 250,000 squares. But I did have a different idea. I am trying to map a trapline so to speak. When I leave my base I want to land on bases I can attack and get money from, and mountians so I can search for cash and to lower my wanted level. I don't want to waste moves landing on swamps and junk. Each day I play I try to refine my trapline to optimize the moves I get. I also have mapped the stores that are closest to my base. When I am very far from home and have enough money for an upgrade and only have a few moves left I can return to my home base and go straight to a store and buy the upgrade to get rid of my money before I have to fend off attackers. If we each worked on our own lines we could share them with eachother. The important info would be the location, square type, strength and name of all bases if known. Other teams have noted that this is an XML webpage and the info could be retrieved and a program could be made to sort it but I don't think we need to put the work in to do this. I am watching one of the larger teams that is trying this and I will just steal a copy if they make one. I'm really not sure if this is worth the effort I would like to hear what others think before we commit to trying something like this. If we do try it we need to all be using the same method to get the most out of it imo. There are some hacks out there I am sure that is why they don't let people use firefox anymore. |

[/ QUOTE ] If you coordinated the entire teams effort... we could map the entire landscape in under 10 days! [/ QUOTE ] I understand that but you do agree we need to think about it before we attempt it. 1. How often dose the map change? There are over 1000 new players per day, do players that have no cash and have not played in x amount of days get their bases removed by the system? What if the mountains and swamps are reshuffled ever month? You need to know this is worth the effort before you try it. 2. All the members of the alliance would have to use the same method of data collection or else it will just be a mess of numbers. We need a legend for the map and a common program we all are going to use. Excel would work but we need to standardized what we want to record before we start. 3. There are other teams that have over 250 members. I am watching their progress and they have decided that a map would be useless and not worth making. They don't really state their reasons why but I don't want to jump in on this task until I know it would be a great advantage and it would be useable for a long period of time. Sorry to be a downer on this but it will be grueling to attempt this. Once we get a little stronger we can target certain players. Ones we feel have lots of money up for grabs and ones that have targeted our members. A simple list of people the alliance is looking for the locations of is easier to manage imo. Each player should keep a list of good places to hit and what level you need to be to hit it plus a list of people that hitting them often. Once you feel you have a nice clear set of data share it with the group. |
