I admire any woman who post here because God knows I wouldn't last long in a woman dominated forum. But to come in here and think that you are going to change things by whining is foolish.

[/ QUOTE ]

One woman can make a difference. There's the Gloria Steinem angry feminist approach, or the Madonna approach of beating the men at their own game. Actually I think you need both. The carrot and the stick. So the boys can focus their hatred on one, but end up giving everything to "the cool chick" anyway. Sort of like Black Panthers/Martin Luther King Jr.; PLO/Hamas; etc. Rambling, but you get the point - flexduck is the stick - but w/o her no dialog at all.

Guys - I'm curious why the hate for ms. Duck? Would you make similiar crass comments in real life in the presence of a woman? I doubt it.

And how about speaking your mind? There are countless thoughts that pass through our heads every minute. Why express the negative thoughts that serve no other purpose than to demean a person you don't even care about? Isn't there something more positive you could say? It's very clear, based on the big discussion recently about reducing caca posts in OOT, that many us of us should practice a bit more self censorship. So even though I might see a picture of a stranger and think to myself "Gee, that's a fat dumb bitch", is there any useful purpose served in broadcasting this thought in cyberspace? I for one would gladly refrain from expressing these thoughts if it meant not alienating the few females who do post here.

And as for the argument of "even if I don't say it, I'll still believe it", listen to some Anthony Robbins motivational CDs.

girls certainly don't have things like commonly accepted "rating" scales, and it isn't an accepted reality amongst women that one needs to receive a certain rating on this scale to be eligible, regardless of things like personality or intelligence.

[/ QUOTE ]

Um, have you ever met peachy? Seriously, you couldn't be more wrong on this point. She was far more critical than any guy in OOT.

Also, yes women do have scales. It's called the "trust fund" scale. With other women it's "who has the cocaine or weed" scale. With other women it's "who is the best athlete" scale. Women have scales that are often just as selfish and shallow as men, they are just far better at hiding it. Men normally don't care about hiding stuff like that. Why don't we care? Because we are *often* careless a$$holes looking for a tight pink hole to poke. Shady and scandalous money suckers is *often* left for bitches. I'm just glad things seem to change as people get older/wiser.

Please be aware that I am not saying you are even remotely related to the people you are hating on (male or female).

That being said I have no beef with you. I think you need a wake up call but I totally agree with you when you say certain people pretty much blow. But hey, we are in a no holds barred fight for the right to procreate with the best genetic specimen. That's life, get used to it.

I do not think so. That's my opinion, we don't have to agree. Stop arguing for the sake of arguing, it's getting old.

Telling someone to shut up is generally not the best way to stop them from arguing with you.

just today, i have had the pleasure of reading three threads in which a woman was described as fat, or chubby, or whatever... you guys spend all day analyzing women to the slightest flaw, and laugh about it, when in reality most of you are either not socially aware or attractive enough to get with a woman with half of her "rating."

[/ QUOTE ]

If someone is better looking than me I'm not allowed to comment on their looks?? So Brad Pitt can go around calling people a tub of lard because he is good looking? I understand where you are coming from, and that it is a little childish, but it's a poker forum! I am actually surprised at how high brow some of the stuff on here is

Most things have already been said here. When we talk about womens looks we're indicating whether we do or do not want to have sex with them, it's not done with malice. I do want to point out something new though.

fslexduck,

You wonder why we didn't criticize/rate guys when they posted their fat pics. The reason is because we simply don't care. It's not some weird code to protect each other and tea down women. With rare exception, how a guy looks is of no consequence to us for reasons that should be obvious.

I feel like you percieve this overriding malice towards women/protection of men and therein lies the problem for you. In reality the reasons for the behavior you see are almost all pragmatic/practical. Granted, it's true that rarely someone will just gratiutously degrade women for no real purpose but they undoubtedly have their own issues don't you think?
