This is a hand from a .50/1.00 blinds NL home game. Eight players.
I'm in the SB with QQ. UTG limps in for a buck. (Read not relevant) UTG +1 makes it 4 bucks straight. UTG + 1 is a decent and tricky player. He likes to make reads and is fairly good at it and is willing to play his reads rather than his cards. He is very willing to make a play at a pot but also has the ability to occaisionally make tough laydowns. MP 1 Raises to 13.5 dollars. He has about 100 dollars in front of him, give or take a bit. MP1 is a decent player, has a basic grasp of card values and odds and is somewhat aggressive, but weak in the face of pressure. Folded to me and I call with my QQ. I have about 115 dollars in front. BB raises 50 on top. BB is a new player to our game and I don't have a good read on him. He plays a few too many pots and likes to raise strong. He lost his first buy in but has run hot since and is actually up with about 250 in front. I haven't seen him make a play like this, but I also haven't seen the action come to him with 32 dollars in the pot PF before this either. Utg folds. UTG + 1 goes all in for another 12 bucks on top of the 50 dollar raise. [Note, in addition to my above read, UTG + 1 is capable of making this move to isolate a player to get dead money in the pot if he thinks he's going to be a coin flip or better -- Like I say, he likes his reads] MP 1 folds. Its on me with a 62 dollar raise with 164 dollars or so in the pot (assuming the BB calls the additional 12 bucks) and I can close the action. What to do what to do... --Zetack |

Easy fold. Someone has AA/KK here.

You are beaten and playing catch up with that sort of preflop activity.

Yeah you should just fold here. No need in getting involved. QQ is the best hand to show down multiway.
P.S.--I like flat calling raises with QQ if I have position. However in the SB, I think you should have reraised. |

[ QUOTE ]
Easy fold. Someone has AA/KK here. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah that was my conclusion. However I found in incredibly difficult to let go of the queens pre-flop. I did it, but I kinda had to kick myself a couple of times to get my hands to throw em in. But everybody here thinks its obvious and no big deal?Guess I gotta work on that -- ok, the queens looked nice but their dead, accept it, muck em, and wait for the next deal. If it matters, BB had AA, utg + 1 had KK and MP 1 had the other two queens, so I would've been slaughtered and drawing pretty close dead to a queen high straight or miracle four flush (I'm not sure if that's a possibility, I don't remember the suits). --Zetack |
