Also there is some merit in waiting for a slightly better situation.

Figure the odds he will hit and run
The odds he will change his short term style

His all in standards were probably slightly worse than any ace, any pair or kq, kj, jq. You aren't looking good against that range.
In those 8 hands he was probably getting slightly better hands than normal.

Hmmm - I think it would be a statistical anomaly (though not a great one) if he had the range you described to have had those hands 5 out of 8 times. I do think I made a slightly thin call with A-6 there which happened to be accurate that time. However, I thought his range was any ace, any two broadway, a medium king, and hands like 8-7 suited. Against that range I should call, right?

It's also possible that he pushed with junk a few times and then happened to get a few reasonable hands. This guy doesn't sound too bright, but even stupid people realize that if you continue pushing every other hand, people are going to make a stand pretty quickly.

I agree, it wouldn't be out of the question to think his range would continue to improve slightly the more times he sucessfully makes this play.

The problem with A6o in a spot like this is that the results might give you the wrong impression. When you call with A6o and are 'correct', you are barely ahead. When 'wrong' you are often way behind. So you need to be 'correct' a high percentage of the time.

I'm sure you know this already, but just something to think about. You are ahead of the range you gave him though. In a vacuum, then it's clearly a correct call. As people are saying, you need to predict what he'll do when he wins/loses.
