Default Analyze My Play: Hand I

I've just started playing no-limit cash games (4 sessions), player hold'em 5+ yrs, limit for cash and no-lim tourneys.

Game is 200 max buy in, I'm there about 2 hours and triple up to ~600 dollars. Lady on my right plays weak tight, I've never seen her raise w/out pair pre-flop. I've played against her in the past in limit.

We are in mid position, blinds are 1 and 2, she makes it 15 dollars (she has me covered ~800 dollars), I look down and find 9-9, I decide my play is to raise to 30 to see where i'm at but I'm about 70% sure I'm behind, I wanted to play this hand heads up and get out the junk.

All fold back to her, she just calls... I still put here on a big hand (AA, KK) most likely, flop is 962 w/two diamonds. I'm 95% sure she is not the draw and I've just flopped the nuts, she leads out with $100, I do some acting and decide my best play is to raise just $100 and hope she bites. Bingo, she quickly says she's all in, I call with my remaining stack ~350. She show pocket aces, just what I thought. Then it comes runner runner diamonds and she busts me.

I think I played it right, I believe I want the call w/the nuts knowing she is drawing to likely 2 outs, Did I play this right???

Thanks,
Rich

No. When holding the nuts and a perfect read on Villain's hand and the knowledge they have not one, but TWO outs. You should definately fold. 'Standard' is the term I believe is used frequently in this situation.

Preflop minraisees vs weaktight people with 99??? Why not just call and stack her when you hit the set like normal people do .

Like I said, I'm new to no limit, I should not be trying to get "cute" and get the money in a bit at a time w/top set, I should just push and take the win or know they called w/the worst of it? Is this the better strategy in the long run?

I saw one of the hands in high-stakes poker where Harman flopped a set of 7's against Farha's AK, K7X flop rainbow and Harman pushed but for 50K and wasn't called. I thought she should have let him fire and try to get another 50K instead of a smaller pot of about 15K.

Ya, this isn't a hand you want to "get the junk out" with. You want to call, hit a set and have as many people pay you off as possible. Postflop it is so obvious that you try to get your money in with the nuts on the flop, this shouldn't even be a question.

ya played the hand horribly, but that has nothing to do with getting sucked out on big time, which i suspect is your biggest concern unfortunately.
