[ QUOTE ]
Al, Van Gundy praised Francis' heart today in the paper. Al, Weisz was terrible, I remember where I was when they didn't pick Artest (IndieMatty = Huge St. Johns fan), like it was a major event. Victor, Jamal Crawford is my favorite Knick, I think he has potential all-star ability, and every third night he drops 30 and has 8 assists, but he also has a tendency to lose focus. The latter half of this season he seemed to really step up his game, and only someone who hasn't watched him over the years would say he hasn't gotten better each year he's been in the league. I think he can really flourish if he disciplines himself. He's also friggin cool. That being said, I think, especially after the last month of the season, he might be the most tradable player the Knicks have, and considering they have five guards already, and LB wants a traditional Speedy Claxton type point guard, I wouldn't be surprised if he's not here next year. [/ QUOTE ] I'd say it's a huge stretch to think Crawford is going to become an All Star. He's already 26 years old and he's really not even close to being an All Star if a guy like Michael Redd can't make the team. Plus, he really hasn't improved since his third year in the league, which was the year he finally got regular PT. His rate stats have been very steady for four season now. |

[ QUOTE ]
Trust me. I have watched Francis for his entire career. He has more heart and determination than just about any other player i've witnessed. Sometimes his enthusiasm and desire cause him to make stupid plays, but I feel this is something he will work himself out of over time. I was very sad when we traded him, although there's no way we could have gotten McGrady without giving up Francis. About his year in Houston under JVG, Francis completely adapted himself to JVG's system. This is what resulted in his numbers dropping that season. He put aside his personal statistical output in order to buy into JVG's concept and play as he wanted him to. JVG has said he was very happy with the way Francis adapted and would have liked to keep him around. Francis is a huge asset to the Knicks if they choose to keep him. If not, I would love to see him come back to Houston. [/ QUOTE ] He's already 29!! He has 3, possibly 4 more good years left before he falls off the face of the earth. |

If I'm a player or coach I don't want any piece of this team.
They got all these guys with horrible contracts who are marginally good players that don't fit well w/ eachother. I think you are looking at a lottery team for atleast another five years. |

wow
I'm looking at the NBA draft list of 1999. Weis was drafted 15th in the first round. Notables after that were Ron Artest at #16. KIRILENKO at #24. Ginobili as the 57th pick (2nd to the last). Not that anyone has any foresight to the draft of course...but Weis looks like a huge MISCUE. |

Well if they wanted a foreign player, you always choose a Frenchmen over a Russian who wears jersey number 47.

This wasn't his second year in the league. If he hasn't worked out maturity issues by now, it's not going to happen. |

With smart management, how long would it take for Knicks to get good? [/ QUOTE ] It depends on whether Isiah gets another NBA GM job or not. If he does, maybe he'll just take all his crappy players with him. |

Ginobili as the 57th pick (2nd to the last). [/ QUOTE ] Wow, it's incredible how little these people work to get massive paychecks. |

For what Allan Houston did for the franchise, I probably would have given him whatever he wanted (before he became a gimp of course). I don't know the details of when he recieved his bad contracts, but he earned the first one with one shot. [/ QUOTE ] You absolutely can't be like this if you're going to be a GM in any sport. |
