[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I sincerely hope one or more people close to you get killed by a drunk driver in the near future [/ QUOTE ] wow..wishing death upon anothers loved ones just to change someones ATTITUDE...worse than driving drunk in my opinion [/ QUOTE ] It's not his ATTITUDE, it's his BEHAVIOR. Me wishing something on someone is never going to get anyone killed. Him driving drunk just might. If you can't see the difference there, you should probably be his first victim. |

lots of people can get killed by lots of things everyday. driving drunk isn't nearly as big a deal as people make it out to be. i agree that you shouldn't drive when youre extremely drunk, but a .08 is not very drunk at all. just because someone gets into an accident and they have been drinking doesnt mean that the accident was caused by the alcohol. i highly doubt that alcohol plays any role in most accidents where someone is given a dui.

IMO, roakblocks and mass sobreity checks are clearly unconstitutional. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court disagrees with me and their opinion counts. Also, 0.08 is ridiculous. The people causing most of the problem are the chronic alcoholics who are routinely driving at 0.20 or so, and seem to keep driving regardless of license suspensions, etc. Giving those clowns some serious time in the state pen would do a lot more good than setting up roadblockds to catch people who've had a few drinks at the bar and are probably driving pretty safely. Longer reaction time and reduced coordination can be compensated for quite a bit by slowing down, and increasing following distance. Too many people here have bought into all the MADD propaganda.

[ QUOTE ]
Im glad you're getting off. Driving drunk is fun and I think it's pretty unlikely that youd run over an 8 year old girl on the side of the road in the middle of the night. Don't listen to all these losers crying about people getting killed by drunk drivers. People die everyday, it happens, they need to stop whining and deal with it. [/ QUOTE ] I hope this was a joke. Either way, not funny. Go tell that to the thousands of families that have lost someone due to the stupidity of a drunk driver. Im sure the OP wasn't out of his mind when driving home. But I'm also quite sure that the alcohol inhibited his driving skills in one way or another. Lesson learned. Someone people can fly planes full of children with 0.08 alcohol level whereas others have a hard time seeing at that level. The line has to be drawn somewhere. Im sure countless statistic tests were carried out to see at what point the majority of the population ceases to drive sensibly with alcohol. |

Not a terrible OP but turned into the worst thread ever of dogooders and donenowrongers wishing death upon those who have sinned. I feel like I just read the gospel according to Jimmy Stewart. Give me a break. WORST THREAD EVER!

Ok.......according to OP he had 8 or 9 beers from ~6PM until 12 Midnight. Thats six F'N hours. Do you know how many 45 year-old yuppie bitches driving $70K Lincoln Navigators I see in one day who almost swerve off the road because they're talking on their cell phone? I saw a lady driving erratically on my way to work last week, when I passed her I discovered she was doing a CROSSWORD PUZZLE!!!! For all you geeks who think OP should be hung from the gallows for drinking 8 beers in 6 hours and wanting to go home....GET A LIFE.
The real bad beat here is OP not taking the breathalyzer, because he would have probably passed. |

lots of things can inhibit your driving like talking on a cell phone, changing the radio station, or being old. id rather have a 30 year old blowing a .08 than an 80 year old that is totally sober on the road next to me.
just because thousands of people have died in car accidents where someone happened to be drinking doesnt mean that alcohol caused the wreck. too many people have been brainwashed by the MADD nonsense. i have driven when im certain i would blow over a .08 hundreds if not thousands of times and i have never been in a wreck or gotten a dui. i know lots of people that do the same thing as me several times per week. too many people try to make it sound like getting behind the wheel when youve had a few drinks will almost always lead to a fatal accident. this is just stupid. |

[ QUOTE ]
I'm guessing that I would of blown close to a .30 or higher and ended up walking. [/ QUOTE ] If this is true I hope you just hit a tree next time. |
