Teddy,
You seem to ignore every request to post the entire history of email communication between Stars and you mother. |

You should post a pic of your mom. There is no better way to validate the thread. [/ QUOTE ] I already did.

I'm 52 and have been known to 8 table effectively. It's not a big deal. She says she never played 40+ hours. I believe both Teddy and his mom. Something else is up. Probably to do with the software she tried out. [/ QUOTE ] Do we need any further proof? Teddy, fyodor is definitely hot for your online poker playing, multi-tabling mom. Get him over there right away! |

Surely that software that computes the odds (or whatever it was) could be on stars' banned list. Don't lots of sites ban this type of software? Of course that still doesn't explain the 43 hours of playing.
Teddy seems smart enough that if he was going to try out a bot on his mom's computer he would know not to let it run for 43 hours. His brother on the other hand . . . |

Teddy, You seem to ignore every request to post the entire history of email communication between Stars and you mother. [/ QUOTE ] Teddy, this is the critical element that you can't ignore and will not make go away. Until you take the very simple step of posting the entire e-mail between Stars and your mom you are going to be seen with suspicion, and rightfully so. You started this, and like it or not, your reputation is now somewhat on the line. If you are telling the whole truth the e-mails will support your case, if not - then it's another story. |

Teddy, You seem to ignore every request to post the entire history of email communication between Stars and you mother. [/ QUOTE ] I am sure he has his reasons... On a side-note: I exclude the possibility that this is a prank, because of Teddy's reluctance to show all the emails. Especially the first email and the second email from Stars to mom are the ones many of us would like to see. |

BEGIN FULL EMAIL DISCLOSURE
THIS IS THE VERY FIRST EMAIL FROM STARS TO HER (SHE WROTE THIS TO ME) Hey kiddo--Pokerstars shut down my account for a "security review" they said, and when I sent them the log files they requested, look at this ridiculous message they sent back. I wouldn't know where to get a Bot if I wanted one. I guess this is a sign that I should give it up entirely (I have been playing at 2 cent and 5 cent tables only!) but what could this possibly be about? Upon a review of your account, we find that you are running an automated player program, commonly known as a "bot". This is against the terms of service to which you agreed when opening your PokerStars account. Those terms of service are located here: http://www.pokerstars.com/tos.html Among them are these terms: 4.4.1 AUTOMATIC PLAYERS (BOTS). The use of artificial intelligence including, without limitation, "robots" is strictly forbidden in connection with the Software and the Games. All actions taken in relation to the Games by a User must be executed personally by players through the user interface accessible by use of the Software. ...In the event that PokerStars deems that a User has engaged in fraudulent, unlawful or improper activity while using the Software or playing the Games, including without limitation a User who has colluded or attempted to collude with another user of the Software, or has used Prohibited ... programs, PokerStars shall be entitled to take such action as it sees fit, including immediately blocking access to the Games to such User, terminating such User's account with PokerStars and seizing all monies held in the relevant PokerStars "real money account". At this time, your account has been closed, and will remain permanently closed, for violation of these terms. After careful consideration, we have decided to allow you to cash out your funds. Please log into your account and cash out. Your account will then be re-closed following the cash out. Please note that should your 'Bot return to PokerStars, the consequences may be more severe. Thank You, Jeff PokerStars Support Supervisor I REPLIED THE FOLLOWING TO HER Wow - unbelievable. Well, at least they're taking security measures seriously, but that's ridiculous, esp since you play 2 cent / 5 cent tables. I am going to email Lee Jones (PokerStars manager) and ask him to look into this. It might just be a mistake. SHE WROTE THE FOLLOWING BACK TO ME Hey -- I'm going to sleep now--are you up studying? I've been writing a paper and playing piano. I think I'm going to use this stupid incident as a reason to give up Poker. I'll wait to see what Lee Jones says, because I'm curious as to how his staff can be so certain and so wrong. (They wrote back after I told them to check again, and they said they were 95% not 100% certain, and that's why they were willing to let me have my funds back.) So I emptied out the account. And that's it. Lots of luv, M. SHE THEN WROTE THE FOLLOWING TO ME I’m just at the office deleting emails as I go. Do you want me to keep you updated on developments or only the answer? Lee Jones did write to me asking for more info. I sent him a reply I had written to his security guy, attaching the security guy’s note to me. In that note the guy (Jeff) has said that everyone came to him for advice because he was the expert so there was no use my trying to escalate to another level. He said he had invented many of the Bot tracking devices (is that why he’s being so stubborn?) He also said (before he knew that a note had been sent to Lee) that even Lee Jones would come to him for final advice on any situation. I assume Lee would want to see that. I’m not mad or frustrated because I’m happy with this excuse to quit. I’m just amazed. Where is Lee Jones located? Xxoo M I WROTE HER BACK THE FOLLOWING Sure, I'd be interested in knowing the resolution. Usually Stars support is very friendly, accomodating, and will give you full disclosure in clearly-written emails. I know this Jeff character sounds quite stubborn, but compared to the quality of response typical of Party Poker emails, having someone write to you in plain English (even if he comes across as a bit of a pompous ass) is actually a breath of fresh air. Poker sites are very proprietary about their bot-tracking technologies, because it's such a sensitive area -- they can't tell people HOW they were caught, b/c that just gives more info to bot programmers on how to evade detection in the future. So this is one area that you may meet a little resistance and might ultimately (although I hope not) have to accept an "I'm sorry, we still think you're running a bot, and we're not going to budge on this one, please take your business elsewhere" answer. Keep me informed. SHE WROTE ME THIS Where are they located? That way I’ll understand the time differences in the emails. Also do they have anyone they’re accountable to like a Board? I wouldn’t go to a Board or anything, I just want to know if they have that pressure of “ethical treatment to customers” hanging over their heads. I wouldn’t mind the stubbornness if I didn’t know how preposterous the whole thing is. So his stubbornness is based on a slavish commitment to some initial theory that was based on I can’t imagine what. xxoo I REPLIED I believe they are located in Costa Rica. They have no Board and are only loosely regulated (at best) -- Lee Jones is as high as you will ever get, so cherish the precious few moments you get with him. I DON'T HAVE WHATEVER EMAIL SHE WROTE BACK TO STARS, BUT THE NEXT ONE I HAVE IS THIS (FROM JEFF) > Hello, > > Your request is already at the level of a Supervisor. When it comes > to 'Bot issues at PokerStars, I am the one Supervisor to whom all > such > cases are brought. That's why I was handling your case to begin with. > Most of the 'bot hunting methods we use here were invented by me, and > very > few others (aside from our software developers) understand them in > detail. > > I really don't say this to dissuade you or to boast -- it is simply > true. > Any review by my own managers will follow a pattern of many in the > past. "What does Jeff think?" and "If Jeff believes its a bot, then > that's good enough for me." > > I really hate to say this point blank, but your claim that you're > not > terribly technically savvy does not hold much water, given what we > see in > your account history. As I said, I'm not going to go into detail as > to > what we look at to make such a determination, but the things you're > doing > are rather out of the ordinary, and highly indicative of non-human > play. > > I'm afraid this decision is final. I would be happy to escalate it to > someone like Lee Jones for review, but please believe me when I tell > you > these two things: It's just going to fall back on me, with such > people > trusting my judgement... and that the evidence I'd present to them is > very > damning. THEN THERE ARE THE 2 EMAILS I POSTED EARLIER (WHICH HAVE BEEN THE MOST RECENT IN THE COMMUNICATION CHAIN) There -- that is every email i have in my possession, including the ones she sent to ME about it. I am pretty numb to this whole thing at this point. Not quite sure why I care about 'saving face' in front of an anonymous bulletin board. Perhaps I need a more fulfilling life. |
