Default Full Tilt $100NL - TA-P opponent on a draw and I\'ve got squat

Full Tilt $100NL 6-max

Villain is 17.5/9/1.00 has $95 and I cover

I took this line because I was certain he was drawing to the club flush given his actions in other hands. That's my read and I'm sticking to it.

Preflop:
Hero is dealt J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Villain limps, Hero raises to $5 all fold to Villain who calls

Flop ($11): 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villain checks, Hero bets $8, Villain calls

Turn ($27): 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Villain checks, Hero bets $20, Villain calls

River ($67): A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Villain checks, Hero bets $30

Villain is very tight and limped utg? Doesn't that tell you he has something good? I would guess he could have something like 99 and is just playing it very scared. More likely he has clubs but with the ace of clubs. Villain doesn't look like he plays many broadway hands without an ace. I would guess he hit that ace on the river and calls the bet.

I don't see much value in betting that river. If had something like QJ of clubs or TJ of clubs you can check behind and win. If he hit the ace, he calls. The only hand you can fold that beats you is KQ of clubs. River bet looks like spew.

I also don't see many tight villains calling PSB's on the turn with just a low flush draw, if it is a flush draw I'd guess AQ or AJ or something. Yes he's passive postflop, but does he fold a lot? how often does he show down?

You're costing yourself money firing three-barrel bluffs at these stakes. Don't get too fancy just take advantage of your opponents mistakes.

If your POSITIVE hes drawing to club flush, try a 1/3 - 1/4 pot on the river. When you lower your bet when the scare card hits sometimes people put you on a big hand. Also easy to get away from the raise.

I've been reading and re-reading this hand, and i'm thinking he might have had 55 or 77 now. He's not the sort of player who would limp Axs UTG, so it was either a small/mid pair or higher suited connectors.

Who better to 3-barrel bluff than a predictable weak-tight player like this? You can stick them on a range PF, and their actions are in line with their hands. I disagree that waiting for them to make mistakes is the way to play. Full Tilt is a lot more passive post-flop than party so splashing around a bit is important to grow and maintain your action. I'm not saying I was "right" on this hand, but I don't hate it.

I made a read and I stuck to it. This was not a total donk, it was a predicable player with very tight stats. Forcing mistakes is necessary against these guys to get blood from the rocks.

Yes, that means I don't know what he had, and he did indeed fold to the river bet.

What's FPS?

And yeah, you might be right that making plays at 100NL isn't necessary... but it's fun!

With my cards these days, if it weren't for making money with the worst hand I'd be way behind for the month.

IMO, he had a pp. And you got lucky that the river was an ace, which probably terrified him. Any flush draw he's limping there, there's a very good chance it contains an ace. So making a read and sticking to it??

I'm guessing he has an overpair on the flop. 99-JJ.
