I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
Nah, not really, i couldn't give a toss about him or you. Anyone pretending to care, offering crap advice should be treated very suspiciously. |

The first thing you need to realize is that what's happening to you is normal and happens to EVERY poker play eventually. If you play long enough you will go through horrible streaks and you will go through streaks that seem like they are never going to end, but always do.
If it starts to get to you, you can take a little time off. If it starts to effect your bankroll or your confidence too much, you can step down in stakes temporarily until you build them back up. Just remember, how you handle the bad streaks if every bit as important, and probably more important, then how you handle the good times and may determine how successful a poker player you will be in the long run. |

[/ QUOTE ] So true... That's why i am trying to keep it cool, not to go overboard in attempts to "get it back". Just continue to play my normal game, may-be, go down a level and rebuild br and confidence... |

While it is much easier said than done while in a huge losing streak, you should either play your normal game like nothing is wrong or drop down a level or two and play your normal game there. Nothing should change...you shouldnt even get upset because this is just a small portion of the numbers that goes into figuring out your bb/100, roi or whatever. Again, it is much easier said than done. I tend to get depressed, which I am right now. Others get drunk, some beat their wifes, and some play the highest stakes online and go broke really fast. I suggest you just play your normal game and be happy.

Strangely enough - i am not depressed, although i used to be, when i lost big.
Did i cross the "thrashold of misery" or did i finally develop the right attitude? May-be,it's cause i am well rolled for the current level. All that said - i am still unable to play my best. So i decided to take a break for a few days, then play on lower limit for a while and then get back, if all goes well. |

Taking a break is always nice...go work out or something and come back easing your way into it. Another thing to remember is 56 sucks suited or unsuited - so easily corrupted ughhhhhhh. Your example above actually just happened a couple hours ago to me.
