I'm going to bed, and I don't really see how anyone can answer that question. [/ QUOTE ] I don't see how you can decide whether to push or fold without at least grappling with this fundamental question. |

I think in order to decide whether pushing is correct, you have to be able to answer the below question: [ QUOTE ] Do we have a better chance to win this tournament if we push and are out 53% of the time and double up 47% of the time to 20BBs? Or, do we have a better chance if we survive 100% of the time with our 10BBs? [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Yes (if by 20 you mean ~23.5); no. |

This isn't close and no vomitting is necessary. A stop and go sucks because you really want to be all in against AK here preflop, and you will never fold out a better hand on the flop and you will occasionally fold a worse hand. [/ QUOTE ] Why would you rather be allin preflop against AK than stop n going here? Also i think the times you fold a worse hand are about equivalent to the times you fold a better hand |

Just because villain showed you a better hand that was in his range, doesn't mean you could possibly fold this hand. I push everytime.
I agree that there is a margin of error in the range that you gave villain, as there almost always is. It's easy to kick yourself when the result isn't favorable. |

If you stipulate that his range is accurate and we therefore have a slight edge (adjusted for pot odds) do you still push? |

I have respect for UTG+1 raises after a UTG limp. Especailly vs a tight player. Now what would be your realistic range vs a TIGHT PLAYER? Someone said KQ/AJ(????), seriously trust your reads if you don't then don't even bother making them. I fold this with a smile all day and find myself much better spots to get it in with <10BBs and LP.

Why would you rather be allin preflop against AK than stop n going here? [/ QUOTE ] Because you're a favorite and not in good enough chip position that you don't want to maximize this edge. [ QUOTE ] Also i think the times you fold a worse hand are about equivalent to the times you fold a better hand [/ QUOTE ] Really? What better hand than a pair of jacks is folding on the flop, and on what flop? The only possibility I can think of is QQ on an AKx flop. Hardly equivalent to all the times you fold missed overcards or maybe TT/99 with one or two overs out. |

Hovering around 10bb, I will take any edge. |
