Default bet types

what are the names of the types of bets for baseball that rely on pitchers pitching? For example in the Rusch vs Arroyo game today....

1. For the bet to count as long as Rusch starts (i'm betting on cubs lets say)

2. For the bet to count as long as Arroyo starts (i'm betting on cubs)

3. Both pitchers to start

4. It doesn't matter who starts i'm just betting on the game

if both scheduled pitchers MUST start, that is called "LISTED".

if you don't care who starts, that is called "ACTION".

not all books allow you to pick only one listed pitcher without the other. if they do, you'll see separate checkboxes next to their names.

Alright thanks, I haven't checked yet but do you get better lines for action bets?

no, it's merely a mechanism for those bettors who don't want their wagers cancelled if there is a last minute pitching change. generally speaking, an experienced handicapper would always want to bet the listed pitchers because he/she has already analyzed the value of that starter into the price being paid. and for scalping purposes, listed pitchers is obviously essential.

in rare cases, a lesser-known book may only book action but did not account for a pitching change at the same time the other books did, creating a brief arbitrage opportunity. but these sort of loopholes have closed up over the years, and only affect the moneyline bets (run lines and totals are always listed pitchers by default).

Alright, on sportsbook it has the bet types as straight wagers, parlays (i know what they are), and IF bets. To get a listed bet would i go to IF bets (IF win or IF action are the two choices) or do i just do straight wagers?

Just go to straight, the if bets are a type of parlay.
