spoke with three dealers at Binions last night. all confirmed the number. it's not like i have a picture or anything

2% of the prize pool went to dealer tips. Did you confirm with the dealers the $1million tip they received for 7days of work a monkey could've done?

Everyone who is upset that the guy didnt tip is so ignorant it's unbelievable. It's like going to a restaurant, having them charge you 17% for the service charge, you end up leaving an extra 3% to make it a round 20%, and then being called cheap for only tipping 3%.

Why is everyone so stupid?

As I've posted many times, I believe strongly in tipping dealers, chip-runners, etc. I HATE mandatory tips, because they remove all motivation to work hard to EARN the tip. Expecting someone to tip when they've already paid a forced tip is major douchebaggery.

Sweet fukcing jesus.

The Diceman things you people are all insane. Tipping a $100 bill after winning $7.5 mill is simply insulting.

I have tipped my fukcing hairdresser $100 before!! Poker is becoming infested with egotistical, CHEAPASS, immature punks like yourselves!

Now, before you flame the Diceman, I understand that money was witheld for the staff, so a large tip may not be necessary. But $100 is just stupid. This situation calls for a grand, MINIMUM! That would at least say, hey, I know you have been compensated, but I just won 7.5mil and want to show my gratitude for conducting this opportunity for me. Fukcing jokesters.

And to you pencil dicks who keep saying that a monkey could deal poker, refer back to my earlier description of the "new breed" of poker players. Fukcing fools. You wouldn't last 10 minutes in the box.

Clueless, classless dumbasses.

Dice out!

I think he shoulda greased the washroom attendant at least 5k since the dealers are looking after only 10 people at a time...but them urinals are bein pissed on steady.

btw ~5k in a week for flippin cards or burgers is good coin...the dealer got a 100 bucks for nuthing...shoulda kissed Hachem boots imo.

from www.worldseriesofpoker.com

"4% of the total entry pool will be withheld for the house. 2% of the total entry pool will be withheld for tournament staff."

I have eaten in many nice restaurants where the tip is conveniently added to the bill for me, regardless of the level of service provided. I don't feel obligated to tip MORE; after all, the standard has been set by the restaurant. I look at poker tournaments the same way. If Harrah's corporation chooses to set the standard at 2% and I as a competitor (and I did compete, by the way, though unsuccesfully) can't choose to give less, why should I give more? If the experience was especially well presented, like last year's WSOP, maybe I would give a little something to the staff. This year's WSOP was a joke, though. It amazes me when I read on Cardplayer.com or on Pokerpages.com about what a great job Ken Lambert and the fellas did, because anyone who played day after day and has played many tournaments previously KNOWS what a complete mess they made from June 2 right through July 16. I wouldn't have tipped an extra quarter except to a few individuals like Jody Ivener who really made an effort to get it right. And for the casual players and nonplayers who are on their high horse about it in this forum to take such offense is pretty silly in my opinion. But, it is ONLY my opinion, so take it for what it's worth.

Default I Want to Clear Something Up...

When people hear about the amount withheld from the prize pools, don't they realize that isn't all going to the dealers? The floor staff gets a bigger cut of the staff money in our daily tournaments then the dealers... Next time I make a big score playing in tournaments, I will go out of my way to make sure the dealers get compensated if they did a fine job. I've played many times where the floors were complete a-holes, and the dealers were stuck in the middle of the players/floors...

This diceman has nothing to do with me.

Tipping any amount beyond the 2% is a choice, and not an automatic one for me.

How much do you want to pitch some cards around (and quite badly according to some reports).

See rez dogs for my response. Tarantino is right, i dont tip people at McDonalds so why tip someone making more money?

The only exception is if they've done a really good job.

UK is like Australia in many respects of this.

Dealer tip from J. Hachem? A single $100 bill. What a schmuck.

[/ QUOTE ]

They withheld 3% of the prize pool for dealers. Dealers got over $1.5M for dealing the main event.

In the past, normal tips are 3%, and they don't withhold any of the prize pool for dealers.

How much do you tip at restaurants that already add gratuity?
