i don't think this one is absolutely necessary, but i can see that there are more people than i realized that are simply unwilling to set foot in oot.

Is OOT really that scary that there are MODS afraid to come in here? I think the problem might be with those mods and not with OOT. Mods should be thick skinned enough to take whatever is thrown at them (to a reasonable extent)

it wasn't polite, and it was moronic. i didn't fail to read between the lines, you deserved a response to let you know how stupid it is to not only burn but actually set back an opportunity to have your voice heard.

other mods could just look at this thread and say, "see? they don't even give a [censored]. let's just do what we think is best for them."

dont let this become "you need better mods." if there are some green dudes that wont post here cuz we're all so damn rabid, there sure as hell are some normal STT, SSNL, etc posters who think we rip out throats and eat babies.

i think creating a new forum would be a whole lot easier than changing our image.

in a word, yes. i don't really blame them either.

i suspect that if they feel this way, there are lots of other people on 2+2 that do too. if splitting would suddenly cause all of those people to generate more traffic, that would be in 2+2's best interest. but right now oot is in 2+2's best interest. oot has real numbers, a&e has speculative ones. so the question is to what degree a split could hurt oot.

i'm surprised that so many oot regulars think a&e is all we've got though. really, look at the thread list.

Of course it would be EASIER, but the thing is we don't NEED either of those things. OOT really isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

It's a subjective thing. A lot of these threads I never look at. The A&E type ones are some of the ones that I do look at more reliably as they tend to have better quality content, on average.

I don't think there needs to be a split. I think the mods should go ahead and try and bring these topics up in OOT. They might be suprized at how well it might go over.

The problem, as I see it down the line, is weeks, months, or years after the split, when someone says, "Look at OOT, all they do is talk about sex and poop and the color of tennis balls," it will, for the first time, be (nearly completely) true. Then where does OOT stand?
