[ QUOTE ]
You joke, but it really is Bush's fault. His Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety: "David Lauriski, is a long-time coal industry executive and lobbyist. Shortly after taking office, Lauriski bragged to a group of coal industry executives that his regulatory agenda "is quite a bit shorter than some past agendas." Indeed, death warrants usually tend towards brevity. Part of Lauriski's abbreviated agenda is to reduce the number of times a mining company has to sample coal dust levels inside the tunnels, a move that is certain to increase incidence of black lung disease. And yes, Lauriski wants to get rid of the chest X-ray program that tests miners for black lung disease. Lauriski also wants to slash the number of mine inspectors by 25 percent." source - the 8th person on the list [/ QUOTE ] Clearly, miners would be far safer if we just outlawed their jobs altogether. |

The Atlanta Journal Constitution's huge big font headline this morning was about all the survivors found alive.
I'm sure tomorrow they'll print a 2 sentence correction on page 8 of the home and garden section. I love how if a politician or celebrity or athlete screws up they can rip them apart, but when they screw up it's all "oops" The funniest thing is that in the article it STATES that the reports of survivors were not confirmed by either the mining company OR the govenor's office. Well if it's unconfirmed why are you running the F'ing headline you idiots? Journalism = dead Some radio DJ's were ripping on the AJC this morning, they were calling up the newspaper and saying "My paper this morning is broken, can I swap it out for one filled with facts?" as if they were returning a toaster. |

This morning the Washington Post early edition headline was 12 WEST VIRGINIA MINERS FOUND ALIVE!
After the pull and reprint it was (wait let’s have a test!) was it: A) EARLY REPORTS IN ERROR, ONLY 1 MINE SURVIVOR B) MEDIA SCREWS UP – 11 MINERS DIE, FAMILIES ENRAGED C) ABRAMOFF PLEADES GUILTY TO 3 COUNTS If you guessed C; you win! Someone get All Capone Jr. to kick all the media in the nuts! |

First of all, I had thoughts of a post like this myself today but you beat me to it. In a sarcastic sense which is what I am sure you intended it to be.
In all fairness, even though I hold alot of the media outlets with the same regard as used car salesmen, a lie is defined as a false statement "deliberately" presented as being true. I am strongly convinced that President Bush nor the media intended to deceive anyone. But, I understand that there are some here on the extreme left that are convinced otherwise for a reason only God knows why. |

You just don't get it! By the logic standards in this forum --- The Media killed those 12 men! They are murderers, they are liars. Stop apologizing for them. [/ QUOTE ] The media's deep faith in the one and only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ will guide them through these troubled times. The fact that the media are Reborn Christians will prove to be their guiding light through these dark days. The media stopped doing coke years ago. |

Bs, huh?
Yep, God knows nobody cares about 12 redneck miners or their families. I think that was a red state, too. So they probably voted for Bush and therefore deserved to die a horrible death, didn't they? I maintain my assertion that you are sick, but I doubt it was CNN that made you that way. |

Eliot,
You forgot to assert that the Constitution is a living document and is therefore meaningless. X |
