where did all the morons and their favorite online pros finish if it was such a easy field? If it is not about where they finished then do not say helmuth went through a donkey field. Your online guys had the same opportunity so sorry if they could not take advantage.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nobody ever said Hellmuth wasn't a good player. I just said that the field in the 1500 wasn't a hard field. It was still massive, and still give Phil tons of credit for making it deep.

But trying to argue that the 1500 field wasn't easy is pretty ridiculous. It was donktastic, why do you think all the pros are playing in the events? lol

[/ QUOTE ]

they are playing for bracelets, ivey a pro who never plays wpt pre lim events is playing these pre lim for bracelets, not because it is easy

Sigh. Sorry, no.

Most people couldn't give a crap about bracelets. They want money. WSOP events present the best chance to make money.

Wow, never heard that one before.

Of course people WANT bracelets. But you enter the tournament to try and make money. The bracelets are secondary.

Maybe the bracelets mean a whole lot to Phil, Ivey, Doyle, etc. But to Brian Horton? Random online pro w/ a 60K bankroll? Not a real big deal. Sure I'd love to win one, but if you said I could win 500K and a bracelet, or 600K. I'd take the 600K everyday.

He/she wrote 'most' not 'no one' and I would tend to agree. In a field of 2600 MOST are thinking cash and not bracelet. Hellmuth and MOST TV pros and those who $600K will not matter much to, can say they want the bracelet and mean it. I'd love to have a bracelet but if someone told me I could have a bracelet and a minimal amount of money for winning a $1500 WSOP event or I could have $600K and no bracelet, I'd take the money. And MOST people would be kidding themselves if they said differently.

to all the people who say he went through a field of 2600 and won because it was a donk filled field and that proves nothing, gobboboy said that he went to montecarlo because it was filled with horrible players, gobbo got 2nd and he is [censored] praised for being god, playing in a donkey filled field as well, every field has bad players so take advantage yourself instead of bashing players who know how to

Agreed....People talk smack on Phil because they cannot stand it when he wins.

I think that is more hilarious than his blowups.

listen, the fact you think that he's won 11 bracelets makes him the best nl player in the world shows your incompetance at determining that status.

You don't get it, simple as that.

he's a mediocre at best cash game player.

Another funny thing about the 'field full of donks' tournament argument against Phil is that anyone who has ever played in a tournament of any size knows that it only takes one donk to knock you out. Going through 2600 donks, conceding that point for the sake of the argument, is harder than walking successfully through a minefield.

yeah, getting to amplify your edge over and over again must be really tough.

luckboxing your way to a bracelet is hard.
