5-10 hand w/ a straddle, fairly deep

Just curious where you played this hand? Usually the mississippi straddles has true last action, so on the button the blinds would act first.

i didnt bet the turn b/c i really felt like he was drawing dead. i felt like this hold'em monkey re-pops w/ any 7 on the flop, and i was pretty convinced he had a wrap of some sort.

i figured my raise flop/ck turn line would induce a river bet, which it did, and i was afraid that betting the turn would potentially run him off his hand when he didnt have a lot of $$$ committed in the pot.


yeah, i'd say it was pretty read specific, and that I wanted him to bet into me again.

Why cant he have 54? ALso, even if he has a wrap, he is bad, so you should fire out a weak bet, like 40% of pot. He will call that, so you profit immediately, and it makes the pot bigger for the river.

i didnt bet the turn b/c i really felt like he was drawing dead.......this is rarely the case in 4card poker...if you thought he had a wrap dont u think he would have called bets on the turn why not charge him...when he bets into on river and u repop hes a lot less likely to pay u off....

in that case the hand is really uninteresting and irrelevant without the read. I still don't quite understand why you think he can't have a 7 based on the flop action even as a "hold'em monkey". Also like aces I'm curious about the preflop action if you straddled on the button.

Are you serious? In PLO they're goddamned awesome, every time you do it (from button or CO) you're forceing people to put in twice as much money money when you're gonna have best position throughout the entire hand and can presumably outplay your opponents in bigger pots? They're good enough in HE, especially when you've got one guy who likes to do it from EP then you can always buy preflop back from him.
