5-10 hand w/ a straddle, fairly deep

I straddle the button for $20

folds to CO who limps, I check option, blinds see the flop w/ us.

Flop

7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

SB bets $40, BB folds, CO calls, I raise to $200

SB calls, CO folds

Turn

3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

SB checks, I check

River

2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB bets $400, I raise to $1200

We've both got about $2200 to start this hand

SB kind of sucks. Pays off light too often.

oh yeah I had K-3-7-6.

Bet turn if he pays off light. Lots of danger cards if he is holding a 7 with 3 higher cards.

I want to say "bet the turn," but it seems so standard that I think you must have some reason not to in mind. Don't be embarassed, spill.

checking the turn is really bad, betting is much better for getting paid off by 66 or (more likely) 7xxx. Maybe he's even hoping to cr you with 73 and will get scared off by some rivers. Also you don't really want to give 7xxx a free card.

Reasons to bet the turn:

How could he call your flop raise without at least having a 7 in his hand (depending on his sidecards he probably has 6-9 outs).

If a card above 7 falls on the river and he bets, do you still plan on raising?

You said he pays off lightly.

*I could understand your reasoning for doing this more if u had A7 on a 77A board.

If I am bluffing a nit, value betting a boat, or betting what is probably the best hand against a call station, I always always bet 2/3 pot on this turn.

Not betting turn with that kinda boat and stacks, sucks. Too small house, to many scarecards, only 1/7 of the overcards in your hand.

And if he pays off to much even bether.

I would have made a 400ish bet on the turn. If he has a 7 with big cards he is calling. If he has any full house he is calling. By not betting turn- he possibly could fold this river and you lost out on breaking him.

ummm raise flop or bet the turn...i like cold calling and seeing a dream 3 on turn..he checks to you he have to bet..he has a 7 and i dont think hes folding yet and may have just made his hand...i dont see with a wrap here but if he does he made it on the turn...i thikn you disguise your hand by betting out turn you probably get paid there...kind of rambling but my first impressions

Not betting the turn is a big mistake.
