[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Like last year, when WV destroyed Georgia? [/ QUOTE ] It was 38-35 if memory serves. I think this is the first time I have heard a 3 point win using the term "destroyed." What would a 5 point win have been? [/ QUOTE ] Exactly. They went up 28-0 early and then gave up 500 yards and let Georgia right back in the game. If you want to be results-oriented, they got their asses handed to them last year by VaTech. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of big games to point to because they never have to play anybody. They're like TCU. TCU beat Oklahoma last year. Were they better than Oklahoma? No. Schools like WVU and TCU don't have the depth to line up with the schools that I mentioned and win the majority of the time. Marshall Eastern Washington Maryland at East Carolina at Mississippi State Syracuse at UConn at Louisville Cincinnati at Pittsburgh South Florida Rutgers Quite a schedule there. The Big East is a joke. I'm surprised to hear a Buckeye defending any school that plays that schedule in that conference. I suspect you would be singing a different song, though, if you were sitting at #4 or #5 behind them in the rankings right now. |

[/ QUOTE ] For some reason I only remembered the 1st half of that game and thought Georgia got trounced. I have little doubt WV is better this year than last year. The thing about WV and Louisville is you have no idea how good they are. Just because they play awful teams, doesn't mean they are bad. They haven't done anything to indicate they are bad, but on the same note, they haven't done anything to make you think they are great. Certainly both are solid teams. WV is NOT like TCU. TCU is a joke. WV can at least run with the big boys and keep it competitive. How good they are remains to be seen. If WV or LV go undefeated and don't make the Natl. Championship, I won't be sad due to their pathetic schedules. Anyone sitting behind them now only has themselves to blame. |

How is Texas better than Tennessee? Texas has how many wins over top 10 teams? How many does Tennessee have?
Texas wins: Sam Houston State Oklahoma Iowa State North Texas Rice Tennessee wins: Cal Air Force Memphis Marshall Georgia |

Honestly, I see people grouping Florida with Michigan, but I really feel like it should be:
1a. Ohio State 1b. Florida 3. Michigan 4. USC 5. Louisville |

Agrees with above, but there are 2 or 3 one loss teams that have only lost to the best teams in the country, and been very impressive otherwise:
Texas California Tennessee Those teams are very, very good. USC is very lucky they get Cal at home, they're blasting teams right now. If Texas runs the table convincingly, and no one else does, they probably should get another shot at OSU. And Tennessee's got two very convincing wins, and just one loss by a point to the second best team in the country. And WVU is a clear #9 at the moment, IMHO. Remember, great teams destroy inferior competition, good teams squeak games out. |

"Texas wins:
Sam Houston State Oklahoma Iowa State North Texas Rice Tennessee wins: Cal Air Force Memphis Marshall Georgia" I don't know how Texas can possibly be ranked higher than Tenn either. What is the thought process? |

Texas wins:
56-7 52-7 37-14 56-3 28-10 Tennessee wins: 33-7 41-7 51-33 35-18 31-30 Basically, Texas has dominated more than Tennessee, despite Tenn's tougher schedule. |

lastchance,,
That doesn't make any sense? Of course you are going to dominate some of the worst teams around like Rice, UNT and Sam Houston...I am a native Texan and know ALL about these schools and they are absolutely pathetic. Tennessee dominates a now probably top 10 and damn good Cal team 35-18 (their only loss), boat raced #10 ranked UGA--doesn't matter how good you actually think they are, they are still a damn good team, and are the only team to play with Florida so far and were only a mistake away from winning that game (21-20). Texas beats the crap out of some peppermint patty's and gets manhandled by the only good team they have played, Tenn. hasn't had this happen yet...so again what is the thought process b/c score means nothing in comparison to the teams you play and how you perform on the field against them. |

doesn't matter how good you actually think they are [/ QUOTE ] Actually, that's exactly what matters, and is the reason why Texas is ranked ahead of Tennessee. |
