After initial skiming (fast reading) this book looks like one of the best books ever. I hope something similair will come up for holdem one day...

Well...You may want to look into Rolf's NL HOLD'EM DVD's.

http://www.expertholdem.com/

As far as books go, I think NLHE T&P is one of the best I've ever read for cash games.

Ive read almost whole book by now (spending all day doing so) and I can say its simply amazing. What I like the most is the way the author is talking about his thoughts. You can really feel how he thinks about the game and poker in general. This is what I really missed in most books (and those which attempted to do so where usually very bad like Cloutier's stuff). There is a lot strategy advice for many circumnstantes and its very good read. I highly recommend the book for anybody even if one doesnt play PLO too much. Its by no means a beginner book though so be warned

Ordered mine evening of the 20th, took the free shipping on $25+ order, and it arrived today. (San Jose). Their original estimate was for Oct 2nd, so they beat that easily.

I should point out that I am the publisher of the book

Byron Jacobs...aren't you the Byron Jacobs who wrote "Winning with the Benko"? If yes, how could you dare to quote a game I lost?? I promise you, if I ever write a book, it will be about the games you lost and nothing else!

Anyways, back to the topic. Rolf's book is not for beginners. For instance he talks a lot about waiting for aces, but he doesn't even mention what percentage favorite you are with aces. He doesn't go into detail about techincal stuff like counting outs either, so don't expect it to be a book similar to "HE on the come".

Having said that, I have to mention that it is still a great book and certainly the best PLO book on the market. The main focus is on pot limit betting systems. He shows you two ways to play PLO - short stack and big stack. So if you know a bit about PLO already, this book will definitely help you to maximize your chances.
