Well, the way I figured it was that I was not vulnerable to many cards, so why not give a free card and make it seem like I am on the flush draw? If he has a 2, I am screwed either way. If a spade comes, it might even slow him down so that we dont have to get it all in with me as an underdog. If he has a 3, its unlikely we're going to get it all in anyway.
So I gave him a free card. The third spade hits and he pushes. I honestly put him on and overpair with a spade draw too, to which I am a huge favorite. I also thought he might have a 3xKs, 4xKs, something like that. He actually had 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. River blanked and I lost. I'm not unhappy with the way I played it. GG him, I guess. Comments on my thought process? Nichomacheo |

I think you are vulnerable to a lot of cards but I like the idea of trying to make it seem like you are weak. As played, I don't see how you can get away from this hand. I think posting the hand history will be helpful.

I'm wondering about how to play AA in heads up as well. I had a similar hand where I raised 3xBB, held the A to the flush draw and lost a ton of chips to some one calling w/84s
to river a flush. With a fairly loose opponent should the move be to blast him out preflop with a big bet (5xsBB? More??) and win your small pot rather then lose a big one to two pair of cheese or worse? |

Comments on my thought process? Nichomacheo [/ QUOTE ] That's too ugly of a flop to get cute with. Your hand is not likely to improve and his is. I still like a reraise on the flop. He could have easily had an overpair. If I put him on something like QsXs then I reraise big because I want as much money in the pot as possible on the flop. Since I doubt he puts you on aces he might think his high card is live. |

There is a remote possibility he has 23/34/A3, but if thats the case, I'm going to go broke on the turn regardless. You cant fear those threes. What I am afraid of is a flush draw. Given that I have one, he has two, and two are on the board, there are 8 that can fall on the turn. I'm not THAT vulnerable to it. I think feigning weakness and having him play accordingly is the best way to go. But I'm tricky. Nichomacheo |
