[/ QUOTE ] Byron coached me on my HU limit game, he is a very good teacher and I am 100% positive this DVD series will be excellent because I am familiar with some of the work put into it. I didn't get Ed's DVDs because I didn't think they'd help me that much, but these sound great.
HGIYLH is my favorite book I think. It's very good. |

Byron Jacobs is an expert British chess player. At least an International Master and quite possibly a Grand Master. I'm not sure which.

[/ QUOTE ] International Master - but that was all a long tme ago. You need to be a PROPER chess player to become a grandmaster. Anyway - there's more money in Poker by a factor of approximately one billion. Thank you for the interest in my work. I have checked the final cut of the DVDs and they look good. Well, I'm pleased with them anyway. They should be available in about 6 weeks I believe. The link is here Expert Hold em I am also planning a short handed limit hold'em book and a new version of HGIYLH. This will have a load of new material and will be approx twice the size of the current book. Both will be available in the new year. By the way, my first name has often been misheard/misspelt as Brian, but Brron is a completely new one for me... |

[/ QUOTE ] Based on that trailer, the production company has improved its sound quality by a factor of approximately one billion. Ed's DVDs are great for content, but they sound like they were recorded on a cell phone in a large empty metal barn. Look forward to them. |

Hi Byron,
Definitely looking forward to buying your new 3-DVD-set on headus up limits holdem. I think it'll be great based on your previous works of HGIYLH and your card player articles, etc. I'm curious what limit do you mainly play your headups games online (5/10, 20/40, 40/80, higher?)? Do you just play one single table for HU or multi-table often? A few quick questions on the "new version of HGIYLH" that's coming out later: Will this just be a revision of the current book with a few more new fresh problems? Or will it be ALL new quizz problems? Your current book (HGIYLM) as stated in your introduction chapter "is about trying to move up from low-limit $3-6 and $5-10...to the middle limits $10/20, $15/30 and $20/40. And I felt it did a great job of accomplishing that job. Will this new version of HGIYLM take us to the next level? I.E. moving from the middle-limit ($20/40,etc.) to the higher limits $30/60+? That would be great if this new version was geared toward that. But will the new version merely be more middle limit ground? Thanks...really look forward to all your new material. - AcesFull |

[/ QUOTE ] Hi Byron, I have a nitpick about the example in the trailer, but I won't bother mentioning it because I actually learned something. Thanks! Is it too late to get them to change the theme music? I have Ed's and Rolf's DVD sets and have converted them to MP3 so I can listen to them often (works great), but this theme, repeated over and over, is driving me insane! Edit: BTW, I'm interested in these DVDs because I want to improve my blind defense/steal play in full and shorthanded games. Any comment on that? |
