Because the reason I didnt take the job in the first place was cuz its 74 miles away and the gas was semi a killer. But I was able to make myself do it for the money since I would be able to buy my wife a car and drive the economy one down to work. THank god I didnt do it.

ok, let's break down the correct move here.

option a --> quit job and live off $5k+savings till new one
option b --> keep job at ($65k-$28k = $37k) until you find new job
option c --> quit job and collect unemployment (which is 80% of salary if I'm not mistaken)*

option a --> you bring in $0 and spend savings + BR
option b --> you bring in equiv of $38k/yr + having to still work fulltime
option c --> you bring in (80% of 65k) equiv of $52k/yr for browsing monstertrak and watching tv.

hmmmm. No need to request help from Patrick cause this isn't rocket science?

I believe you are way over-valuing unemployement benefits. In MD, the max anyone can get is $310/week.

People really make that much money in collections?

Enlighten me if I'm thinking of the wrong job, but isn't it just calling people on the telephone and asking them to pay their bills?

I thought those types of jobs were low paying, or commision based.

Be good,

Augie

Sell the kids on the black market. In one move you eliminate your need for insurance, and get a mad bankroll.
