Ok, I stopped reading about half-way through so if I missed some very important details (extremely doubtful) then oh well. For those getting on to the OP are somewhat confusing me, now I understand not throwing tables, beating the hell out of her and even screaming and ranting and raving at her (all inexcusable) but all he really did was snap at her? Who wants to be with a woman anyway that crawls into a [censored] shell if you snap at her one time? Seriously who are you people? Lol @ everyone that thinks you can only get to the bottom of a situation by CIA'ing your way around the house or pussyfooting to your ladies every wish...[censored] that. If a woman can't tell me the truth when I look into her eyes and ask her I am out the door, there is no need to wait till' she goes to sleep so I can scan her phone logs and waste my time trying to trick her. That is the whole point of a relationship, honesty and trust so what better time than now?
The situation would have been real easy with me. I would have asked her one time, she either answers me correctly or she doesn't and I am either out or I am not and OP I know that after being with this person for 5 years you know if her answers are correct or not...pretty [censored] simple. The crap said in this thread is lol. If that situation went down as described with myself I would have snapped at her too, I wouldn't have gone nuts or anything but I also wouldn't have been Richard [censored] Simmons, give me a [censored] break. Her actions were cut and dry--deceit.

sorry to pile on with an similar opinion, but there is nothing at all about the OP's actions that warrants him making an apology. if anything, i admire his restraint. the absence of an explanation from her pretty much confirms the worst... i would however like to hear maybe a tad more about the state of their relationship before this to understand it a bit better because i am privy to several similar situations around me that involve cheating, and in every single one, the man was not treating the woman right for a long period of time before she strayed. there is a lot more to treating a woman right than just supporting her financially, and if you are not taking care of her needs, it is not a matter of if she is going to cheat, but when. but that is just speculation - in either case, i agree with an earlier post; the relationship is now over, has been over, and at least for me, i would NEVER be able to trust her again, regardless if i was treating her right or not before said transgression. it is very sad indeed, the girl could have at least the decency to end things before throwing the pussy around like a dirty tramp - i would have slapped her

The point is, she did something suspicious (fail to answer another guy in her boyfriends presence), and therefore, whether he yells, or asks quietly, she is obliged to answer him immediately to keep his trust. Any wavering on her part will only make him lose trust. And, in my opinion, once trust is less than 100%, problems will ensue. Maybe she doesn't run into the room if he doesn't yell. But it doesn't matter, again, she is obliged to come clean, doing anything other than coming clean immediately will only strain their relationship, and cause problems for their daughter. I agree that yelling shouldn't be the first option, but come on, for her to play this game with him..running and hiding because he yelled at her...well, that's just childish and deconstructive to their relationship. If she were to comee clean immediately and it was nothing (bill collector, etc.), THEN he obviously should apologize.
