Default The 1k sngs....an interetsing observation?

Whenever a new format or structure emerges, a very interesting phenomenon occurs. This goes back to the introduction of the party steps, then the party 530s, and now the 1k turbos on stars. The phenomenon is eesentially this,,,

About 20 people proclaim how "soft" the new games are, and announce how they are destroying them, outplaying everyone there, etc.

As someone who does a pretty darn good job of assesing play, I will say that the play in the 1ks on stars has been pretty darn strong, and that every good player is getting their share of wins losses and bad beats...good2cu had perhaps the worst single day of luck i have ever seeen a week or so ago....#1pen is in the midst of coming in 4th like 20 times in a row today...I have won more thna my share in the short time they have run but certainly not due to "outplaying" any of these players.

Overall, the play is quite good....good2cu and pwnasaurus and bigjoe and cferg when he plays are bringing their party skills to stars as well as others. Yes there are a few weakies but net net it is damn good sng poker being played, with very few GLARING errors.

What is also interesting is the 315 turbo they have added as wel...what is occuring is that stars is really making it so everyone "finds their level" and the players that cant beat the 1ks wil go to the 555s etc etc etc...but what is definitely going to happen is this. Play will continue to improve at the higest levels.

I won a 1k heads up with pwn a few days ago where literally no one made a mistake the whole tournament. I went through it afterwards and literally EVERY push or fold play was correct (obv as best as i can tell...cant tell what people folded when they may have pushed)...It was pretty sick. As someone who runs a training site, this is really good stuff, as there will be many instructive videos to come from these, and people who are not quite at that level would serve themselve well by railing these tournaments, as the play really is of a high caliber.
