BEAT: i am forbidden to wear black

so i'm going to a wedding in SLO on saturday

there is a rehersal dinner friday

i have to look nice

i brought a black shirt and a blue shirt with me to wear. i thought i'd buy slacks, shoes, and 2 ties for the occasion.

well, i have to get a full on suit, which is fine, but i was also directly told by the bride's father, the bride, and my gf that

"you cannot wear a black shirt. you are not garth brooks. it looks tacky"

my response: "but i've often worn a black shirt before"

gf: "doesn't mean you didn't look tacky before"

wtf. black shirt is balla.
