BEAT: i am forbidden to wear black
 

so i'm going to a wedding in SLO on saturday

there is a rehersal dinner friday

i have to look nice

i brought a black shirt and a blue shirt with me to wear. i thought i'd buy slacks, shoes, and 2 ties for the occasion.

well, i have to get a full on suit, which is fine, but i was also directly told by the bride's father, the bride, and my gf that

"you cannot wear a black shirt. you are not garth brooks. it looks tacky"

my response: "but i've often worn a black shirt before"

gf: "doesn't mean you didn't look tacky before"

wtf. black shirt is balla.

these are my views on the matter.... and why would you wear a full suit to a rehearsal dinner?

some gold bling around my neck, sporting the gold watch, black shirt buttoned half way up, black slacks, black leather belt, black shoes....

seriously though. black is good anywhere.... garth brooks - lol... so much better if they'd have said Johnny Cash

Aye, black shirt's a no-go, unless it's black on black, which is cool IMO but more befitting a funeral than wedding.
