So I was listening to some music the other night when a traditional Irish folk song, Brennan On The Moor, came on my iPod, and there's one verse which I absolutely love and it always sends shivers down my spine.
[ QUOTE ] Now Brennan's wife had gone to town, Provisions for to buy, And when she saw her Willie, She began to weep and cry; He says, "Give me that tenpenny"; As soon as Willie spoke, She handed him a blunderbuss From underneath her cloak. [/ QUOTE ] Of course reading it, you don't get the full impact, but if you can get your hands on an MP3 or something, preferably by the Clancy Brothers, it's absolutely incredible. So what songs are like that for you? |
