I think this is a great idea.

Especially since I can still ask "dumb" questions about adavanced strategy...oh wait, I may not have to since "betting the turn is retarded" will be worded in a more pithy manner and by their very nature posts will be more thorough.

LFT's (for one) recent posts have been tremendous- very well written/explained and have helped me to begin a break from my linear lethargy. If this is what is to be expected on a large scale, I welcome it.

This thread is very long and I don't feel like reading it all. But I will say I think splitting the forum is a great idea and I would love to contribute to the high stakes MTT forum.

so when you say that nobody on the list can post in the forum, i should take that as "you can reply to the posts". you cant expect anyone to make that assumption

[/ QUOTE ]

i have skimmed over the whole debate about whether to split the strat forum, and to begin with could see where you were coming from even though i didn't agree with you (mainly because it seemed most of the better mtt strat posters were very enthusiastic about the idea of a new forum and thus would post adding more quality FREE content on these forums). but seriously, sweet suffering jebus...let it go.

edit:
fwiw, this is from someone who will certainly not be part of the "clique" as you put it (badly)

QFT. It gets very frustrating when you have ME hands and $11 tourney pages on the same thread. Hopefully this will lead to more quality and less quantity.

Just made a first draft of the list and it is at 112 people. Just so everyone know this isn't exactly going to be exclusive. It will just cut down on some of the non sense.

Sorry for the confusion. People will be able to reply as of right now. I will listen to posters as to how they want to run this. But as of now posters will be able to reply but not create threads.

There are a lot donks who play in major tournaments, and they sometimes make the final tables. I don't see why they shouldn't be able to post hands.

I do think it is preferable to make a division based on poster than based on buyin. Also, I can see that there might be obnoxious posters and it is easier to require permission than to ban people from posting.

I wonder how much problem with bad OPs there would be without these restrictions.
