Apparently I was the victim of collusion, which cost me $900, which FTP put into my account today. I feel like I got a good "chance" card in Monopoly or something.

It's a tacit apology for Full Tilt SNGs being rigged in favor of their donkey pros. I'm still waiting for mine.

Currently stuck 30 buyins at the $60s, hopefully i can crawl out of this hole before it gets even bigger. Maybe returning to 60s was a bad idea

Pretty sure I've experienced at least 1 30 buyin downswing every month since last July. Try having a 100 buyin downswing(yes, it's possible for 8%+ ROI players to experience them).

slim, i don't really think it was a slow play so much as it was a shot at an utg limp/reraise + fastplay on flop.

honestly i don't think it's unreasonable to go for that if most pots were being raised preflop. although if most pots were being limped multiway, then it sucks.

of course indy said it was 50/50 so who knows? i just didn't get the impression he was really slowplaying.

[/ QUOTE ]

The limp-reraise is a good tactic for sure, and I've never played at any of the Bay Area rooms, but if they're anything like the crappier LV low games, any hand that's good enough to limp with is good enough to call a raise with. Reraising hands are reraising hands no matter what's happened. Plus, raising actually disguises AA as a lot of the players would have limped it themselves, although likely more as a pure slowplay and less as an attempt to limp-reraise.

I'm having a tad bit of trouble following this. Bay101 and all of the card rooms (eg Lucky Chances, Garden City) in NorCal are 2x fishier than anything you've seen in vegas. I sware to god that NorCal is the best place for a serious poker player to be right now. I mean, Vegas is good too. I crush the 1/2 NL games there and do ok at 2/5. But here even 5/10 NL is pretty [censored] horrible. I think its the recent vietnamese/filipino immigration to be honest, but I cannot be sure. Somebody is playing that loves to gambooolll.!!!

By "recent" do you mean since about 1977? And yeah, at Lucky Chances a table with a couple vietnamese/filipino guys with their shirts half way unbuttoned, a couple gold necklaces and bracelets and big watches with much too large bands can be a pretty wild table.

What I'm saying is that I prefer to raise preflop with AA rather than limp because the Gamboolzors pay it off anyway and limp-reraising doesn't add that much more to the pot even when it works. when you limp-reraise, a lot of people will put you on exactly aces, which is bad because then you've tricked them into playing correctly. If you put in a big early-position preflop raise, they put you on JJ or AK and stack off with QJ on a Q-high flop.

I'd go to Casino San Pablo, but I hear the average person is a favorite to die of lung cancer waiting to get into the NL game over actually getting to play. Everything else is basically the same commute as to Vegas from here.

No I don't mean 1977 there are tons of vietnamese immigrating here all the time. San Jose has become the 2nd largest viet population next to orange country outside of saigon...My wife and 1/2 my family are viet and they constantly talk about San Jose.

Same commute as to vegas wtf? Don't u live in Berkely? There's Oaks Card Club, The Palace, California Grand over there isn't there? OMG LOLZ at your tobacco comments I love Berkeley peoples. I heard that your town council has actually impeached the president. I was driving back from Napa last weekend and went through Berkeley and saw that all the overpasses have signs that say "The war is a lie." LOLz i love you guys u make me laugh.

I can drive 20 minutes to the Oakland airport, take 30 minutes to get on a one-hour flight to Vegas, and be at Caesars in another ten minutes. It's not hard to rack up a two-hour one-way transit on the 30 mile trip to San Mateo. All it takes is one drugged-out suburban housewife about to jump off the Bay Bridge or Woody Harrelson climbing some critical piece of infrastructure to... wait... MY PANTS ARE MADE OF WEED... and I easily could have been in Vegas faster.

There's no NL at Oaks AFAIK. Plus I like not being shot. Palace... they have NL but same deal with the getting shot. One of these days I have to make the Crazy Pineapple Hi/Lo Split tournament at Ocean View. That sounds like it's worth driving for!

Don't get me started on hippies. The "impeach Bush" measure was even more retardedly-written than Tuff_Fish's online poker ballot proposition. On the plus side, I saw a raving lunatic today who looked a lot like microbet.

When I was working on my house in Oakland I would have lunch at the Oaks every time I went to Home Depot. I only got shot like 4 or 5 times. No big deal.
