You cant fold here. I am stuck between R/F or calling down. But this situation happens all of the time in a live 20/40 game, especially against asions.

As other posters have suggested he *may* be playing something you beat this way. As he seems very predictable, I would like to SD in order to find out whether he's got a set here (2 pair seems remote) or whether he's capable of making this move with AQ, etc. or a flush draw. If not, then you can play that much more confidently against him. If so, then you win the pot, plus you have a better read. This is +EV call down either way, IMO.

Couldn't agree more with Hoi Polloi's response, granted you have a pretty good understanding of the player but at least if you go showdown then you can use it that information for future hands if this occurs again versus the same player (assuming he's a regular).
Thing is a tight player logically isn't going to make a steal heads up (at least most), I think overall you made the right fold but because you play the way you do he might be able to take advantage of that BUT in most circumstances he's holding a better hand, you've only got one pair? What can you beat? Definitely sounds to be a set or A,2,6, or 8 suited or does he check raise a flush draw? Who knows next time pay him off (assuming your even beat) once and see where you stand, then you know for the future. |

"Thing is a tight player logically isn't going to make a steal heads up (at least most), "
wrong. " I think overall you made the right fold but because you play the way you do he might be able to take advantage of that BUT in most circumstances he's holding a better hand," this is not a good fold in a HU situation, unless stone cold read, even then its close. by the way 1 pair, esp. TPTK is very strong HU. i m o. |

You know that folding is a very tight line. You are the only one who can say whether your read was strong enough to justify it.
