How do you play this differently if at all? Villain is characteristically quite passive.

Calling all the way gives you no information. Did you have any idea what he had when you called the river? Because I sure as hell don't know.

So what do you suggest? Raise the flop? If so, how much?

i think that when a passive player bets into this flop and into 3 other players its not worth calling him here.

Would you prefer to raise the pot, face a push, and fold knowing you were beat? Or what if you just get called? Does this mean you suddenly know your hand is best and you can confidently bet the turn for value?

If Villain is going to make small little bets and you don't have that much of a hand, really, sometimes it's okay just to call and find out at showdown whether Villain had you beat or not.

I think that, since Villain is quite passive and he bet into a preflop raiser and two other players on a king-high flop, I would just fold the flop. Even though his small bet sort of looks like an attempt to set his own price for his draw, in this case I think it's more likely that he's making a timid bet with top pair.

I probably play that hand the exact same way and hate myself the whole way for it - call down and make a note. It often pays off though as I am constantly surprised by how often even passive players will take that same line with either a 6 or a 5 in their hand or a draw.

Folding the flop wouldn't be bad here though. I'd be hard pressed to pull the trigger on a raise.
