I'd raise A7o+, Theres still a lot of value to gain if we can isolate and have the BB's money to play for.

Red Beard, what you're saying here is STANDARD!

Someone tell me why a raise here is so bad... Surf, looking to hear from you.

Wackjob is saying CO is a passive fish. That means you're not gonna be losing a lot of money postflop if you don't hit and still bet out. It also means there's a good chance he folds if a high card flops and you bet...unless he's an LPP.

The other thing is BB's style. There's a big difference between a TAG and a LAG in preflop play, Wackjob. "LAG/TAG" doesn't help us here.

I'm agreeing with Mr. Pink here, assuming you can get it HU.

getting it HU vs. a weak limper whos likely to play predictably postlop w/ some dead money in the pot and the initiative is usually a good thing.

That would be really nice but what really is going to happen is BB is going to call. Best case you hit an ace and have a horrid kicker. More likely you are sitting first act with ace high or bottom pair vs two opponents.

With any cards you decide to play, Heads Up is better than 3 way.
We are probably ahead, so raise to get Heads Up.
And also , Why give BB free look at the flop?

Good Variance

If I'm the BB I'm calling with a lot of hands here. You can rasie and against BBs more likely to fold i like a wider range but I'd make sure you have something decent you want to play oop 3way with if the BB is a more normal opponent that will likely call getting 5or6:1.

Alright, I have been convinced that a raise here is not the better play, as BB will probably call. You'll be stuck OOP in three-way hand and setting yourself up for difficult decisions.

But what about if this fishy CO raises instead of limps preflop? Do you three-bet A2o or A3o in SB? Much better chance of getting it HU...

[/ QUOTE ] Good Q. I think it depends on the fish. If he is as passive as described and he is raising. He prob has you dominted. Probaby not a good raise anyways.
