I've lived in an off-campus house for 3/4 of my college years with 5 roommates. We've had half of our big parties, that is birthdays, holidays, end of the year type stuff be themes. Usually all of our friends comply and as an incentive we do like "5 to get in 3 if you're dressed up" That seems to work.
Persoanlly I like themed parties, they get people riled up before the party and encourages ridiculous behavior. Next up: peter pan party in november (anyone in NYC is invited) Girls wearing fairy/pirate/wendy outfits Boys in pirate/lostboy/peter pan outfits Sounds gay but everyone gets laid. |

[ QUOTE ]
I hate 'theme' parties and refuse to attend. Halloween and Christmas parties are enough. It's an excuse for people to not develop the social skills to think of conversation on their own. [/ QUOTE ] completely agree. Id rather just dress like myself and have everyone do the same. not to be a thread kill. |

One theme party I've heard of that sounds kinda interesting is called a handcuff party.
Each guy is handcuffed to a girl, and the two of them are given a quantity of alcohol to finish. Maybe a 26oz or 40oz bottle or whatever someone decides is a good amount. They are not given the keys to their cuffs until it is all finished. |
