[ QUOTE ]
They checked the paired board instead of probing for set, etc. Then the cat with the queen seriously gave odds with a 10BB raise, and started the party. [/ QUOTE ] Umm, the QTo guy raised 5x BB. |

It seems more likely that it flew "under" your head.
I thought seat 5's play was quite rational until he called the turn all-in's. I like seat 6's play pre-flop unless there was a good reason to expect all the cold calls behind him. He is hoping to double up, he's afraid seat 5 will go away if he comes over the top pre-flop so he gets cute. Then on the flop he's either way ahead or way behind, so he gets cute again, unafraid of anyone hitting two pair. His turn play is where i recognize the panic that sets in when you have AA and are afraid you've made a mistake. He recognizes that he has seat 5 beat and wants(hopes) that no one behind him has the 7. So he pushes in some kind of vain effort to protect himself, when in fact the only call he will get is someone he has beat (or a donk like seat 5). I know I've made those stupid kind of pushes on scary boards for all the wrong reasons before, I can only assume this guy did the same thing. I'm just glad to see that it happens at the highest levels too. The BB calling pre-flop seems pretty routine to me especially given gigabets post-flop abilities. 5-1 is enough for even me to play anything, unless I'mat that stage where every chip is precious. |
