The trip scared the [censored] out of me. Right before I wrote the trip report, I destroyed all the salvia I had, about a gram. I DO NOT like being out of control of my mind like that. If you had told me when I started freaking out that I had smoked salvia, I wouldn't have mattered. I was thoroughly convinced I was in a coma and this was an illusion my mind had created. Can you imagine how scary that is to honestly believe your entire life has been fake and you're lying in a hospital bed? I'm still worried. How can I be sure? I will probably never be trying it again.

If you use it to think about your life, it was probably well worth it.

Oh, and I forgot to mention this. After I splashed hot water - which felt cool to me - on my face, I started to get really cold. I touched my gf and it felt like she was on fire. She was so hot, I thought she had a fever. She told me I was just freezing, but I didn't believe her. At one point I told her to call the hospital too because I felt like I was going to explode from the heat. That is what scared me even more than the mental experience and why I won't be doing it again. The physical reaction was too much.

[/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] You won't have much control over what happens to you mainly because of few seconds after you've taken a hit you won't even remember that you've just taken a hit. Your perception at that point will become your reality (it's not like shrooms where you are sort of aware that your perception is distorted because you're shrooming). And if that reality includes an ability to fly, you'll probably jump out of the window. [/ QUOTE ] I did warn you. That said I think the interesting about Salvia is that it does show you that perception comes from the inside and is very different from objective reality. That realisation can be pretty disturbing but can also open your mind to the possibility that people might have different perceptions of the world & that your perception is not necessarly an accurate representation of objective reality. |

Funny how useful the seach function can become in this place. I was just about to start a thread on Salvia. I tried it for the first time last night--what a trip. I actually took only two bong hits of a 10X extract, supposedly headshops sell up to 25X. It reminded me of a short run K hole that I entered once in college where I though I was taking bumps of, err, something else. I found myself unable to speak for about 2 minutes and felt light headed after coming down for the next 20 minutes. I definitely recommend having a "sitter" with you the first time you smoke it, but I will feel comfortable in the future doing it on my own. I had no urges to say "walk of a ledge" or do bodily harm to myself which some written experiences have proclaimed.
