I used to have bad fever delerium hallucinations as a kid. Oddly, when I had chemotherapy in my 30s, the same visions came back; though there was no fever.

[ QUOTE ] But salvia does sound fun. [/ QUOTE ] No. [/ QUOTE ] agreed. not fun, but very interesting to the curious mind. [ QUOTE ] does a vaporizer work? [/ QUOTE ] ive heard that its a pretty terrible idea. get a bong, theyre rad. youll enjoy it homie <3. [ QUOTE ] Very good post hmk. I really disagree with the "do it alone" part tho and I think it's quite irresponsible for an experienced user like you to advocate that. I really really advise anyone who wants to try it to do it in company of a sober sitter they can trust. Someone who is experienced with Salvia is a bonus. [/ QUOTE ] fair enough, i agree with this btw. having someone with you who is very calm and collected in that they will just make sure you dont leave and will be someone to try it with and help you pack is very good. having a loud, talkative, bright personality with you would probably be a bad idea with salvia however. rj |

Wow these trip reports sound cool. Now I wanna try. Is it best for a first timer to use 10x or 20x? [/ QUOTE ] I've heard that 20x is REALLY strong, maybe stick to something less, like 5x? |

Castaneda is awesome. Do you know about the authenticity of his writings/experiences? My grandfather told me that there was a lot of research done to show that a lot of his writings never happened, or something to that effect, but I never did my own research about it [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, Castaneda's books are B.S.(and I am quite fond of the first three, haven't read the others). Wikipedia or Snopes will probably have details. |

I just had a terrible trip on salvia, my first time. I filled a bowl with 10x. I smoked a hit and held it in until I started to feel my head float. I exhaled soon after I felt it hitting me. I was sitting in a chair, with my gf on a bed close to me and a closed door to the balcony. I noticed I was starting to feel hotter. After a few seconds, she comes over to me and says I look red. My temperature was getting to be unbearably hot. I had to open the door to the balcony and get some fresh hair. Then it hit me... I'm not actually in this place. This apartment... this life... it wasn't real. That door outside, I was there. I started to completely freak out. I'm still not completely convinced... This life was an illusion in my mind, a dream, and I was lying in a coma somewhere in a hospital. I asked my gf, "Who am I??? Tell me about myself!!" The heat was too much and I ran to the sink in the bathroom. I turned it on all the way to the left and started splashing that delicious cool stream of water onto my face. The gf runs over to make me stop because I'm splashing scalding hot water on my face. After that, I started to explain to her, this isn't my real life. This is a dream. I'm actually in a coma. I need to wake up. Then I started to realize I had smoked salvia... but I wasn't completely sure. How could I ever be sure? I was still burning hot and then too cold, and then burning hot again. I was mentally fine now, but the temperature still changing. This is about 10 minutes later. I wasn't sure if this was real, but the salvia scared the [censored] out of me and rocked my entire sense of reality. I smoked a little weed to calm down. This is about 30 minutes after initially smoking. I'm done writing now. Maybe edit later.

Very awesome trip report, Kurosh.
For what it's worth, it doesn't sound necessarily like a bad trip either. Though it may sound stupid, a lot of what makes a trip bad is not the things you see or feel, but how you react to them. One person might find the same trip cool that another guy finds awful. Maybe you had a little more mystery or clarity than you were ready for right now. Just seeing things differently can be extremely upsetting to some people, and kind of unnerving to most anyone, and cast a shadow over the ability to understand or enjoy something. With a little different mind-set, you might be able to explore more and react, and worry about stabilizing, less. Good thing you had your girlfriend with you. |
