$50 HUSNG on PokerStars --
Opponent's numbers are 25/33/42 with a AF aggression of 2. Those numbers are limp/call/raise percentages from the small blind. My notes are "Aggressive, Weak, Overvbets Pots, Tricky". He has limped with kings, checked them down, checked all the way with top two pair, hence the weak comment. While he is aggressive preflop, he has been pretty weak/timid postflop. I've got a 2-1 lead without much work, simply playing tight, aggressive poker. If he plays kings by checking it down , then you can safely wait for a better spot .
He may have ace 7 , ace 9 and occasionally players will mini raise with a straight or flush draw. If he's a tight postflop player , then you should muck this hand on the flop . Another option may be to just call and see how he plays the turn . By calling , you signal to your opponent that you have top pair . If he throws in a psb , then fold . The difficulty is quantifying how tight of a pf player he is . Most of the time , we don't have enough information to determine this . |

Would you say tightness is or isnt directly related to preflop folding percentage? That is, if a player never folds preflop from the button (as first to act), then he is loose and if he folds a lot, he is tight? Preflop only.

i think that's a fair way to label players, that's how i think of player's preflop

i think its very difficult for us to put him on exactly A9 or A7. I would think the majority of the time we are actually ahead here.
i would call the flop min-raise and push his turn bet, or bet 3-400 if he checks turn. Or if i was feeling particularly daring i'd call his turn and river bet or call turn and push river if he checks. Has he min-raised oop before? He could have a weaker A could be bluffing thinking you didnt have an A. I just think folding is a bit weak especially with the chip lead that you have (i.e. if he does have you beat then your still well in the game). |

Agree here, folding is not an option IMO.
The turn is another matter, but this is an easy call (I would consider a re-raise but from your description a call sounds better), you are probably ahead. If he hammers the turn, you can get away unscathed. |
