If you are supposed to be good enough to play 100s, then there is no reason why you or I cannot wait until we have 10K which is a very safe amount to play at that level.

It isn't a matter that you
can't wait, it is a matter that you
shouldn't if you can safely move up sooner. If you can pull in $2/game average at $10 buy ins and $4/game average at $20 buy ins, there is no reason to not move up once your bankroll is "safe" enough.
If you know you are a winning player, with a bankroll of $400 you can easily take a shot with 1-3 buy ins at $20 and drop back down if you are lose. It isn't enough that you will go busto, but it can give you an early boost into building your roll if it kicks off well.
If you get a decent start you would end up getting to $2000 in half the games. In real circumstances the jump in average profit probably won't be that big, but it is still significant enough that it is worth a try.
