Which is their job. If you think police are to prevent crime, you're sadly mistaken.

I used to not be bothered by this; most of the cops in my town don't do [censored] like this in broad daylight, but wait until like 3 AM. Usually they'll throw the lights on, no siren, barrel through the intersection, go dark and then haul balls down the street. Obviously this is because they need to be somewhere, quickly, but don't want whomever they're trying to nab seeing them coming half a mile away because of their lights.

Then occasionally I'll see them blow a light to make it to the late-night drive-thru at Taco Bell. This royally pisses me off, especially if I'm waiting for the light to turn green so I can go to the late-night drive-thru at Taco Bell. Then I have to wait for the light AND a douchebag cop.
