He would have to laydown almost anything but AA-QQ. Because the hands he will fold seem to comprise about 90% of his range in your eyes, I don't get why you wouldn't want to pick up 9k right there.

I like the push preflop and think it is the most profitable approach. However, PA's calling range is way wider than QQ-AA in this situation. He only has to win 39% of the time and OP does not necessarily have a huge hand. Probably any hand that dominates AJo is calling, and probably some others.
Like I said, I think OP wanted to outplay PA, put PA in a difficult situation, and bust out PA, and I think that influenced his play.
