Huh interesting. Maybe that's part of it.

Never understood the phenomenon of the "morning person". I myself am a "night person" that has, through many years of painful training, go to sleep somewhat earlier and get up pretty early on a consistent basis. Took a long, long time to get there, but think it's defintely more efficient.

Also, I always just assumed it was restlessness / low-level stress / mind-racing that keeps people up - have this energy that needs to be expended at the end of the day. Less that they felt like sleep is a waste of time or you're missing out by sleeping.

Although even if I am feeling really complacent (as far as I can tell), I still have the desire to stay up...
