I'm guessing you lost the pot to someone with some sort of lame flush, but I think overall your play is fine. Betting the river and check/calling is pretty close. I always play top pair + nut flush draw pretty fast. You are either WAY ahead, have a small equity edge, or a tiny equity deficit, so JAM IT. You didn't have to eat a raise from a better hand on the turn or the river, so it's possible your 4-bet saved you just a little bit of money.
Don't feel bad when you push small edges and lose. The monster pots you rake in when you win more than makes up for it.
