Re: An Unbelievably Long Guide to Hand-Reading.

Great post! One question though about the PFR "sliding scale:

[ QUOTE ]
a passive preflop player has a PFR under a quarter of their VPIP. That means that this is a floating scale: while 10% PFR...

Am I understanding you correctly that you would fold JQo preflop on the button after 2 limpers?

Seems like a reverse-domo hand to me, but I'm not sure the...

I think limping this on the button here is fine, but I dunno about calling that raise.

Re: 25NL, Raising the OESD, then making it

Also, corrct me if I'm wrong, but a plain ace doesn't crush my low end draw - he'd be missing a queen. If a 9 comes, the only way I'm not good is if he has AQ.

25NL, Raising the OESD, then making it

MP3 here is very loose passive preflop, around 52% VP$IP. Post flop he's somewhat aggressive at times.

BB is also pretty loose, and rather aggressive preflop (22% PFR).

Feedback on all streets...

Re: 25NL, Going from good to better

Ok, point taken about the wacky check raising in the second hand, and the preflop call on the 87 hand.

However, on the first hand, what position do you start playing A7s? NLHTP suggests that down...

Re: big draw vs Loosey OOP Line check

I'm inclined to say you shouldn't bet the turn - villain is loose, and seems unfazed by your flop raise. I'd check and hope that he either checks behind or bets small enough to give me odds to draw....

Re: **Official 2006 Results and 2007 goals thread**

Most of my play was Limit in 2004 and 2005 - I kind of eased off in 2006 and didn't start consistently playing NL until November, so I don't really have any worthwhile results to post.

As for...

25NL, Going from good to better

Here are two similar hands where I start out with a decent holding, it improves on the turn, and the villain simultaneously gets frisky. Should I be matching with my own aggression, or should I lay...

Re: bottom end of a str8 in an unraised pot

Isn't the villain's play on the flop and turn (especially the turn) too passive to suggest a set? After all, with a straight draw and then a flush draw on the board, wouldn't he be more aggressive?

Re: bottom end of a str8 in an unraised pot

You're getting around 5:1, and it seems to me that hands like K5 - KT are possibilities here. I think I'd call, though I may be thinking over-optimistically.

I also think you should have raised...

Re: turn 2 pr facing huge overbet

Is the villain's line super standard for an overpair or something? Raise, PSB, then push?

Re: turn 2 pr facing huge overbet

I think you should raise the flop - there's a good chance you are ahead, but there are many cards you'd rather not see on the turn.

As played, I'm not sure either what to do on the turn. If he had...

Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.

Big hand --> big pot
Small hand --> small pot

Is the hero's hand big or small? Seems small to me. Checking the turn keeps the pot small(er).

25NL, 88 flops a draw against a fearless villain

Villain is a little on the loose side, but not to an extreme.

Re: NL25: In which I fire three barrels

How likely is something like AJ though? Wouldn't he have bet or raised that on the flop or turn?
