Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
I'm looking for advice on where to stay, what to eat, and what to do at night time. We'll be going mid-June for 3 days and 2 nights, probably Sat-Mon or Sun-Tues. She's not 21 yet, so the Canadian side would be better for anything involving alcohol. We'll have a car available, if necessary.
Any help / links would be appreciated. |
Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
I know a lot of people go on honeymoons and stuff there, but honestly when I went there a couple years ago it seemed like a total dump.

[/ QUOTE ] The Canadian side of the Falls is actually quite nice. I don't have recommendations on where to stay, but I would avoide the American side as much as possible. Clifton Hill is definitely a fun area for non-21 year old Americans. |
Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
I'm up there all the time (GF lives up there). CA side is where you want/need to stay American side is worthless except for Seneca Niagara Hotel.
If you plan to play Then Pick there or the Fallsvue Hotel both offer a P*ker rate. If not go to the Hilton or the Marriot. Get a Fallsview room in either. When in Canada... In any case when up there go to Niagara on the Lake. (rent car or take a tour) Its got a downtown area with candle shops, kitchen shops, and other things of the like. Also some nice resturants. Stop in the cigar shop get your self a cuban btw. Go visit a Winery, Inniskillin is pretty close and makes some decent wine. The tour wasn't expensive and my GF loved it. Linky Do the Maid of the Mist your if its your first time there. It's touristy but cool. American side, go to the top of the falls resturant and/or walk around the park. If you have time and want to do a "guy" thing go to the anchor bar (in buffalo) which is like a 30 minute trip just to go see the home of the buffalo wing. |
Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
Its also only just over an hour to Toronto...which I recommend for shows etc and possibly spending a night
...also much better shopping |

Its also only just over an hour to Toronto [/ QUOTE ] That's actually where we're coming from. About the shopping, we'll probably want to take a day trip to Buffalo and hit up our favourite American stores. I wouldn't mind grabbing lunch at Duff's, since they have the best chicken wings I've ever had. I went to Niagra as a kid but never really did the whole Maid-of-the-Mist thing, so I think I want to do it this time around. If we have time, I at least want to swing by the casinos just to locate the poker rooms for the next time I go back. I won't be playing any poker on this trip. |
Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
From what I've heard, you may want to try to ditch the GF one night and head over to Sundowner's.

"How would you like to feel my tongue on your balls" The "back room" is basically a room of guys getting head and more in some instances... ...some girls even refuse to do lap or table dances as they make way more money shining dudes up... and dont forget the 74 rub and tugs in the area too |

Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
Try the steakhouse at the seneca casino, excellent if you like that type of dinner. It also will give you a peak at their poker room. Another thought is to rent a tandem bike on the canadian side. here is a place i researched to take my wife up there 888-264-4490. They said to call ahead and reserve a bike. I guess there are some nice trails there. Downtown has some weird tourist shows that you could wander around and experience together.

Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
a TON of candians always seem to be at the big outlet mall in Niagara Falls, US side.
There are some nice spots for shopping(I think) in the north Buffalo, chippewa/deleware street areas. Duffs has very good wings. But then again any corner pizzeria in buffalo has better wings than anywhere in Canada. Candian side is much better in almost every respect. Maid of the Mist is cool. definitely something u won't easily forget. |
Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?

Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
i guess the restaurant is in toronto...not sure how far that is, but when i called they were in the process of buying a motorcycle and didn't remember the name, but had it in a book at home. i will get it posted when they get back with me.
she said it was right in the middle of town, but not easy to find. i will also ask about any other suggestions...they had a blast! i am sure you will too. |
Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
The hotel right at the Fallsview casino is probably your best choice. DO NOT STAY AT THE BROCK if romance is a priority. Trust me, stay at Fallsview.
For a nice romantic dinner with a good view of the falls, try the restaurant on the top floor of the Hilton hotel directly across from Fallsview casino. Niagara On The Lake is a must if you've never been. Nice little shops, and a very beautiful little town in the summer. The Whirlpool Jetboat also launches from there if that interests you. Lots of fun, but you will get soaked. Great golf in the Niagara region as well. BTW, I hope you plan on spending $1000-$1500 for a 2-3 day stay down there. Enjoy! |
Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
Niagara Falls Canada is nice to visit but get a room at one of the hotels in Niagara on the Lake. The GF will be much appreciative very romantic. I recommend the Pillar and the Post.
As an aside while the Sundowner is nice you need to check out Private Eyes it is better. |
Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?

got a guidebook to toronto
"toronto insideout guide" and it is available at amazon.com [ QUOTE ] in a vineyard-style setting, with a patio in summer. You will find all the old favourites you'd expect on a Greek menu. [/ QUOTE ] athens restaurant, 707 Danforth Ave. 406-465-4441 three course dinner for two without alcohol expect $20-$50 evidently canada is 19 for casinos, at least for alcohol so the not being 21 might not be an issue. anyone know for sure about the casinos? |
Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
Sundowner has to be the best ripper's in the world, I stand by it...and as for hotel, I like the Sheraton on the Falls. Awesome view (available), and rooms starting at 99$.

Re: Help me plan a romantic trip to Niagra?
AAAA - he's said like 4 times he lives in Toronto... I'm pretty sure he knows the drinking age, and isn't interested in TO restaurants.
And Athens is a good place. |
