raiiiiiiiise! I probably raise to 2k but a push is fine. Whichever you think has less fold equity.

If there was ever a flop for a slowplay, I think this is it.

EDIT: Oh I'm retarded, I misread the diamond draw.

Raising to 2k (with 1460 left behind) seems like that should be the worst play possible...

Here's how I play this hand in this spot.

A--push
B--call and push a non diamond turn

Works for me since I can also play a bunch of hands similarly.

Ignore me, I just edited my post a second ago. I missed the diamond draw, because I never learned to read...

ha- sorry bout that max...

its unfortunate that you barely have enough to push here and not give them odds to draw out for the flush, but its pretty much your only move.

why is raising to 2k and leaving 1500 behind 'the worst play imaginable'?

basically, if you do that, you want them to call with flush draws (because they're not dumping them on the turn) and you want them to call with anything else too. Same thing with if you push. You just want to pick the one with the least fold equity, as I mentioned in my original post. Obviously you're not folding if you raise to 2k and a diamond hits.

Raise to 1400, shove any turn.

One or more has top pair. Push this. One or more will probably call, putting you on the diamond draw.

Interesting, and if you weren't doing the Gobbodance I'd dismiss it out of hand. (By the way, my son loves your avatar. "What's that man doing?")

Of course you're giving all kinds of odds to diamond draws, which multi-handed is something of a gambooool. Are you doing this because you need a huge stack if you're going to win the seat?

You got some 'splaining to do Lucy!

Re: WSOP Qualifier hand - flopped bottom set - how fast do you play it

Well, I chickened out on the slow play and just pushed. The flush draw scared me and I figured calling or raising and then pushing to a non-diamond board would given me very little FE on the turn. I really struggle with hands like this. Meaning, sets on scarey boards. I am always scared to give cards, but at the same token, I feel like by playing them so fast, I push out all action. I am sure there is a happy medium. Just gotta find it.

Results - I pushed, they fold.

there's nothing wrong w/ picking up that pot. you added like what, 1.6k to your stack? thats a lot.

Even if it is a big chunk of money, don't you want to get as much as possible on hands like that? You don't get to flop a set so often...

I don't feel I found the way to extract the most of it...
