I sat next to a cute girl in French all of last year, had a huge crush on her. Finally worked up the courage to ask her out a week before Spring Break, turns out she had a boyfriend who was on the varsity football team (turns out I actually knew him through a mutual friend). It was awkward talking to her for the rest of the semester and even more awkward doing it in French.

I know she isn't married to him, but do you think it would have been alright to ask her out?? I mean she said she was "going steady" with him, and while I wasn't exactly sure what she meant by that I'm pretty sure if he found out about our hanging out I would have been in for a major face pounding. Now that might not sound so bad, but I like my face the way it is!
