HU SNGs and Degenerate Gamblers

I have noticed that some of the truly awful degenerate gambler types tend to play a lot of heads up SNGs. It seems like a very high percentage of people with awful Sharkscope stats (e.g., -25% ROI and several k in losses) tend to play a lot of HU SNGs. I started playing some HU SNGs after I noticed this and I am amazed how bad the play is.

Any ideas on why bad players are attracted to HU SNGs? My theory is that the bad players like it because they win every so ofter whereas they almost never cash in full table SNGs.

It is the fastest way to win and lose money by still playing poker.

Well, ill have to take a closer look at HU\

Only problem i can think of is that you wouldnt have time to sharkscope the victim befor it starts.

And remembering a heap of names sound a bit difficult when there would be a whole heap of them

they crave action, no better spot.

Agree. It's constant action and they can be in every single hand and still have a shot at winning sometimes. I play some very cheap HU SNG's on FT and while some of the players are actually pretty good, I do run into some of those "all in" types you push every single hand until they win or lose. I've played 2 or 3 matches one after another with a couple of these guys before and it's pretty crazy. They will suck out and win a few but in the long run they are easy to beat because they are pushing with every hand and you are only calling with a certain range of hands.

yea with only 2 people they can actually win here as opposed to rarely winning at full tables, its ashame the seats fill up so quick so its hard to target certain players.

I love them only because I love gambling - LOL I just want the money, I don't give a [censored] about grinding it - well, that's my mentality anyway when playing HU SNGs. I know my limits and so do most people.

just on a side note:

Once I went into a HU SNG and went all in first hand PF with 33, and villian called with 88..

I won.. lol donkaments.

My theory is, they try to convince themselfs they are winning players by saying I can beat X player at the level I play so I am above average.

I agree the play is a little sketchy at times but I think that you have to take more chances playing head up or short.
So in turn it makes some of the play look bad.
I get crazy aggressive so it might look reckless but I actually have control of the game.
I love the guy who always pushes in hand after hand--easy money.

It's a quick fix while they lay 10K sports bets on the phone? It's all that they have time for? They just lost 300K on a televised high stakes game and despite being stuck a million they need to keep playing against all the "f'ing donkeys?" They're sent from heaven to feed you nice stats? Who cares?

HU SNGs are good for them, because there aren't 9 players to be embarrassed infront of. Shame or lack of is something that gets degenerates to really let loose.

This is an old post, but i think it deserves an answer. I have also started playing a lot of HU SNG's. I am attracted to this form of poker because I hate all of the waiting that is needed to become a good 6 max or FR player. I think that most fish are impatient players that thrive on action, so naturally they gravitate towards HU poker where it is often +ev to play a crazy amount of hands.

These same bad players will most likely never enter HU cash games.
