Open letter to POKERSTARS, Lee Jones et al!
The only deposit option you have available now, Epassporte, involves excessive fees. There is an upload fee of 5% for every $100 or part thereof (deposit 150-fee$10), the transaction is recognized as a cash advance by the Credit Card companies thereby resulting in another 3-5% fee and when you withdraw to your bank account anothe 2% is tacked on. I call upon POKERSTARS to immediately absorb all or most of these fees not unlike the absorption of the Neteller INSTACASH fees you were picking up. Without this step I fear that online poker is gone, thank you, Judith Carr.

Ban Please.

Ban Please. [/ QUOTE ] Hear hear! OP has a point, but making nonsensical demands right now is silly with all the uncertainty out there. We don't know if Epass will be viable two weeks from now. All I ask is for Stars to keep open communication with its players and hold our hand through the transition. They (Stars) didn't bring this on, so I think its reasonable to give them time to sort this out. If they want to fold U.S. operations, let's get it over with sooner than later instead of this speculation and innuendo. While it clearly sucks, you can't expect the execs to be martyrs to the gestapo. |

I think chances are that LJ is hiding under his bed right now. American prisons are very slightly better than 3rd world ones....

It's all over. |

Right now online poker has only taken colateral damage, all DOJ initiatives have been directed at sports gambling. Pokerstars and FullTilt, being private companies that only deal with online poker, which lies in a gray area which the DOJ has not yet entered, have no reason to fear yet. We can still hope and have confidence in the fact that the powers that be for these sites do not panic. |

In fact this is quite true. PS, FT and others may have a chance because they stayed away from blackjack, sportsbook and other customer-hasen't-got-a-chance-in-the-world gambling activities. Too many in here are though in denial and need to wake up. The sky may not be falling quite yet, but it's getting damn close. |

[/ QUOTE ] Not agreeing with anyone, but, why is that when someone states their opinion on the coming doom of online poker he is treated like an embicile? Seems to me that when that person states something that another poster does not like, even though all the signs of it coming are there, the other poster calls him an idiot and even calls to have them banned in some cases. Seems to me to be a case of the "other poster" wanting it to not happen so bad that they get pissed at anyone who even suggests it could happen. Sort of closed minded and short sighted, dontcha tink? This post was NOT aimed at anyone in particular! |
Re: Open letter to POKERSTARS, Lee Jones et al!
Because basically i've seen him in more than one thread screaming "Wake up people online poker is DEAD!"
Statements like these in muliple threads by the same person basically kill any constructive conversation. |
Re: Open letter to POKERSTARS, Lee Jones et al!
yeah, I'm kind of sick of these people saying, "It's a FACT!"
I agree there's a real problem here. And everything MIGHT fall apart. Maybe even it's likely (although I don't think so). But all this stuff like, "First Party...then Neteller...the US govt isn't going to stop people. It's a FACT" is just annoying. |

This post was NOT aimed at anyone in particular! [/ QUOTE ] Just my 2 cents, but for me, the issue is when people insist on stating opinions as fact. I am fine when someone says that they believe online poker (OP) is likely doomed and give valid, logical reasons for their belief. In alot of cases, people are posting that OP is definately doomed, which crosses the line from opinion to untruth. Also, it is pointless to just post your belief that OP is doomed. It is interesting that someone has that opinion. My favorite color is red. That may also be interesting to some people. If you do not have meaningful information that will benefit others then why post on the topic at all. For example, a post that says online poker may likely be doomed, and points out that people should explore various options (learn to play live games, etc) has some type of purpose. OTOH, posting that you know for a fact that online poker is doomed is pointless and is also very annoying. |

I don't find that interesting. * sorry, couldn't resist |

As stated above, it's because this particular toolbox is running into every thread stating the death of online poker as FACT when it's not even likely....in fact I think it's barely even plausible. |
Re: Open letter to POKERSTARS, Lee Jones et al!
